If there ever was a day you needed to have paint spilled all over you, today was not that day. Ok, let us rewind here. It was a pretty decent day in the month of June, it wasn't too cold or warm. And you had decided today was the day you were going to paint your room. You had been wanting to do it for a while now but never had the time. Until today, you started to think maybe you didn't have time but you said screw it and went out to buy the paint.

It was actually pretty stupid of you not to bring our friend along, why? Well, the only colors you could see were black and white. That's what everybody saw, until they met their soulmate at least. That hadn't happened to you yet, so you relied on your friend to tell you if the color scheme of your apartment was ok. Not to mention texting her pictures of what you were wearing everyday to make sure you weren't going out in "clashing" colors.

It was kind of ridiculous how much you depended on her, but she always told you she didn't mind. But there were days you wished you could just see what she was talking about for yourself.

So here you were, walking into the paint store. You pulled out your phone immediately to take pictures to send to her. After choosing your color you were about to leave the store. As you stepped out of the door you felt something run into your shoulder. You lost your balance and fell back into the side of the building.

When you hit the wall the paint cans fell and splattered all over you and the sidewalk. You were angry and about to yell at whoever had run into you when you noticed something. The paint that was dripping off your shirt wasn't black or white, it was brighter, a color you'd only ever heard described to you.

You started to look around. The sky was so bright you had to squint your eyes. You started to laugh in amazement.

"It's... it's blue!"

That was the color on your clothes, the one you were going to paint your wall. You were laughing hysterically now.

"It's blue-"

You had turned around and noticed the man standing there. You stopped laughing. He was smiling widely. His hair coated in the blue paint, hung just above his shoulders and his metal arm glinted in the sun. You were trying to get words to form but you could only stare.

"You're- we're.... I'm so sorry I wasn't looking and-"

He chuckled.

"No, no. It's fine, don't worry about it. I should've payed more attention"

His voice was a beautiful sound to your ears and a blush started to creep up your neck. You extended your paint covered hand towards him.

"I'm Y/n"

He smiled again, and it was the best thing you've seen in a long time.

"I'm Bu- James, but people usually call me Bucky"

You quirked an eyebrow.
