Jun POV
I was riding with JT making our usual drops and routes on this messy raining day. It was way colder outside with the rain so we had the heat cranked. I kinda like the rain though it was soothing and peaceful. I zoned out watching the rain hit and roll down the window. "Thank you so much." I heard a woman say and I turned to see a older pregnant woman shaking JT hand.
I shook my head turning back to looking out the window. She was a regular customer since before she got pregnant but you would've thought some people would give it up. At least for their kids for crying out loud. I feel bad for what that baby might go through with a mother like that.
JT nodded his head and cranked up the car before pulling off. "You know you shouldn't be selling crack to a pregnant woman." I said as we started heading back to the trap. He shrugged his shoulders "not my problem man Im just doing business." he chuckled making me shake my head. He glimpsed over at me as I was on my phone just scrolling on social media.
"Why you give a fuck all of a sudden." he asked with a raised brow. I shrugged my shoulders "Just do. Maybe of I care there would be one last fuck up in the world." I said mumbling. He nodded and pulled out a prerolled blunt and pinched it between his lips. "Well maybe you can on your time but right now money is money and I getting paid to be no social worker." he said turning up the radio and lighting his blunt.
He took a couple pulls from it before holding it up and blowing out smoke. "Wanna hit" he cleared his throat and I looked over at it. I sighed before taking the blunt and putting it to my lips. I took a long pull from it and held it in for a moment before releasing the smoke out my nostrils. I repeated the step before passing it back over to JT. After that blunt and a half of one the high started kickin' in and I felt my eyes become droopy.
I nodded my head to the music as I continued to stare out the window at the rain. My thoughts going back to the previous months and weeks that I have been working with JT. As you all know I won't with smoking but after the things that I've seen while working you'd start it too. It was only weed though I could never hold a cigarette to my mouth and it wasn't like a habit or everyday thing. It was just a once in a blue or if I won't doing nothing.
Sometimes I question my decision on doing this kinda thing. This type of thing was no joke and could get you killed. Speaking of killing a few of our co-workers got killed the other weak from some other drug dealers. Coincidentally it was on the routes that me and JT normally took but had twitched around that day. I thank the Lord that we had.
Jt told me about the rivalry we had with other gangs and that Boss was a target but I didn't think it was this heated. They would capture us and demand information about Boss whereabouts then kill them. We was losing more and more people by the days and have to bring in some newbies constantly to make up for the loses.
I swear if it won't for mama and Jalani I would've backed out weeks ago. "That truck been following us this whole time Jun?" Jt asked snapping me out my daze. I furrowed my brows looking over at him glimpsing at the rearview mirror trying to keep focus on the road. I looked at the side mirror and saw the truck that was following us. The truck had pulled over into the lane on the left of us now pulling up beside us on my side.
I watched the truck and the tinted windows rolled down a little revealing a man. Just his dark shades and black cotton beanie. He was looking over in the car and even though he had on shades I think we locked eyes for a moment. JT looked over at the truck before the man quickly rolled up his window and speed off.
I furrowed my brows sitting back in my seat and watching the truck switch lanes. It got off on the ramp heading down the freeway. I had a puzzle look on my face. "That was weird." Jt said taking a pull from his blunt and handing it to me. I held up my hand and shook my head I was done with that stuff for today.
