Enlighten Me

E.M. 23 **The Day**

Amari POV

"Im sorry the person you called is unavailable at this time. Please leave a message after the beep."

I groaned in frustration as I tossed my phone on the bed. "He still not answering me." I said to Tasha who was in my rolling chair spinning. "Girl maybe he busy. He probably will call back later." I shook my head tapping on my phone. Today was the day. Prom day. Saying I was nervous would be an understatement and Jun wasn't helping my nerves.

I really needed to talk to him. He needed to know what was going on at his mama house. I couldn't wait til prom to tell him and I hate to tell him all this the day of us leaving but he needed to know.

I kept trying to talk to Jalani about it ever since that day but she been brushing me off every chance. So me being me I just left her alone. I looked up from my phone to see Tasha standing up with her arms crossed. "Did you hear me?"

"No. What did you say?"

She rolled her eyes "I said unless you want your little head done you needa come on cause our appointment is in 30minutes."

I nodded grabbing my phone from off the bed. "Go get Mariah I'll be out after I finish everything." she nodded and exited my room heading down the hall to Mariah's. I blew hard before sliding off my bed and into some sandals. I went over to my vanity and grabbed a brush. I brushed my wild hair into a ponytail.

I grabbed my polo hat and placed it on my head. After grabbing my keys, phone, and wallet I turned out my lights. While I was walking downstairs my phone started vibrating in my back pocket. Not even looking at the Caller ID I answered making my way into the kitchen.

I grabbed a bottle of water and turned off the lights listening to my phone. There was a lot of shuffling going on. "Um hello?" I said about to hang up. The shuffling stopped and I heard his voice. "Hello?"

"Jun?"

"Hey babe you called me?"

I paused dead in my tracks in front of the door. Was he seriously asking me that question. "Yes I called you! I have been calling you for days it seem like. I haven't heard from you in days." I heard him sigh into the phone.

"I know baby but I been busy."

"With what?"

"Never mind that just know that everything is getting taken care of. Enough about me. How you been?"

Rolling my eyes as I locked up the house. I held my phone that was between my ear and shoulder. "Fine I guess." I replied making my way to the car.

"That's good babe. Well I gotta go now I will be at the school waiting on you. Enjoy your day love you."

"No wait I have to talk to you about something!" I yelled into the phone.

"Babe I gotta go just text it to me" before I could protest I heard a click. I groaned again tossing my phone in the cup holder and folding my arms. Tasha laughed putting her keys in the ignition. "Trouble in paradise?" she asked.

I rolled my eyes buckling my seatbelt. "Just shut up and drive."

"Oooo a-ti-tude. Jun needa handle that" she chuckled nudging my leg before backing out of my drive way. I shook my head biting my lip to hide my smile. "Shut up Tasha. You get on my nerves." I said opening up my messges to send him a text. I took a deep breath thinking on how to put what I was gonna tell him into words.

After taking in another deep breath I typed up the message. I read over it and hesitantly sent it. I hope he doesn't take the news too bad.
