Jun's grandmother in the media
Amari POV
I pulled up to nice big two story house. The yard was packed with vehicles. I parked on the other side of the road to make sure the family had enough room to park. I turned off the car and we watched people go inside with dishes and drinks. I spotted Jun standing on the porch hugging everyone that came in.
I had no idea he had such a big family. "Look Mari there's Jun!" Mariah said pointing across the street. "She see him." Tasha said not looking up from her phone. She locked it and put it in her purse before turning to me. "Come on. You gonna get out today or tomorrow?" she joked as she opened the door along with Mariah.
"Look how many people here." I said as she opened the back door for Mariah. Mariah got out and grabbed her bag before shutting the door. "What you expect its Thanksgiving." Tasha said opening up my door for me to get out. I took the keys our of the ignition and grabbed my purse before stepping out. "I know but I feel out of place. I don't have anything to bring to the table." I said pulling my sweater down and fixing my beanie.
Tasha hooked her arm with my left arm as I held Mariah's hand. We looked both ways before crossing the street. "Girl we're guest. Don't worry about not bringing a dish." she said lowly as we got closer. "Yeah but it might be a sign of disrespect I'd hate to give a first bad impression." I said barely above a whisper.
"Oh please. He would've let you know if you had to bring a dish." she said as we were now on his Grandmother's yard. Jun noticed us and smiled at us. Mariah let go of my hand to go hug Jun. He picked her up and she wrapped her arms around his neck. "Looking good mini me." he said kissing her cheek.
"Thanks. Mari picked it out for me." she said pointing to me as we walked up the steps. He looked me up and down before biting on his bottom lip. "Yeah I see. Yall cute matching and shit" he said still looking at me. Tasha walked infront of me blocking his view making me giggle.
"Stop eye raping my friend creep" she said with her arms folded across her chest. Jun sucked his teeth as he put Mariah down beside him. He walked up to her and mushed her face moving her out the way. "Skrrr" he said with his hand in Tasha face. Tasha mean mugged him but Jun ain't paid her no mind.
I laughed at them because they were forever picking on each other. "Anyway. Hey Lemon Drop. Looking good." he said towering over me making me feel like a midget underneath his tall frame. I looked up at him giving him a shy smile. "Thank you." I said almost mumbling.
"Where my hug at?" he said with his arms out. I wrapped my arms around his torso and he wrapped his muscular arms around my shoulders. "Short ass." he mumbled with his chin rested on my head. I sucked my teeth and tried to push him off but he had a grip.
"Quit it. You know its cute." he said leaning down to peck my lips. His hands was now rested on my waist and his lips were millimeters away until someone cleared their throat. Everyone head turned in their direction. In the doorway was a middle aged brown skin woman. Maybe a little bit taller than me but it was hard to tell.
She wore her hair in flips and it was in a sort of short style. She had on a red sweater and black slacks. She looked a lot like Ms.James. "Im sorry to interrupt things." she said in her kind voice before walking over to us. "Well you know better than not to introduce us." she said looking at me with a kind warm smile.
I returned a small smile before we looked up at Jun. He stood straight before clearing his throat. "Grandma this Amari Jackson. That's her little sister Mariah and her friend Tasha Hargrove." he said pointing at us as he called our names. Tasha and Mariah waved shyly and she returned the friendly gesture. "Everyone this is my grandma Joletta." he said.
