Jun POV
|5:37am| Montgomery, Alabama
I been driving all night but finally made it to our first destination. Saying that I was exhausted was an understatement. I've been driving around until I found a motel not far from the town. I pulled up to the office and to my luck the lights were still on. I shut the car off looking over at Amari who was knocked out on the passengers side.
She was snuggled up under my giant jacket. Her head rested against the window with a mean mug glued on her face as she slept. I chuckled to myself "who the hell pissed you off in your dream." I mumbled before gently shaking her leg to wake her. She moved but didn't get up after two more attempts of shaking her I squeezed her knee.
"Ow!" she whined smacking my hand away. "What fuck face" she mumbled rubbing her knee with her lip poked out. She tried to close her eyes to go back to sleep.
"Babe. We at a motel Im about to check us in. Can you be alert please?" I asked her and got no response. I touched her knee and she flinched before glaring at me. "I heard you just stop touching me." she said sounding aggravated.
I laughed softly "someone's not a morning person." I teased before getting out the car. I made my way into the office where a red haired lady had her head down on the desk. I heard light snores coming from her. "Um.. Excuse me ma'am. Ma'am?" I said trying not to really disturb her.
I ringed the bell on the desk and her head jumped up making me flinch. "Im sorry young man. Welcome to The SunnySide Motel how may I help you?" she asked resting her chin in the palm of her hand. I cleared my throat "I was just seeing if you had any rooms available."
She looked at me strange before looking over at the clock. "At this time of the morning?" she asked. I nodded "yeah. Sorta been driving all night." I chuckled dryly as she turned around to the wall of keys behind her. "Just you?"
"No. My girl and her baby sister is in the car."
She nodded before turning back around with a key in hand. "How long will you all be staying?"
I twisted my lips to the side. "Uh.. Until further notice" she just looked at me with a raised brow. I gave her a friendly smile in return.
"Im not gonna have any problems out you three am I?"
"No ma'am none at all." I assured her.
"Its $108 a night. Room 2A. Will you be using cash or credit?"
I nodded digging into my backpack and pulling out a wad of 100s. "Cash" I replied placing the stack on the desk infront of her. Her eyes widen as she stared at the money I placed infront of her. She gave me a friendly smile as she handed me the keys. "Enjoy your stay here young man." I nodded before walking out and back to the car.
Amari was now up looking around at her surroundings. "Where are we?" she asked turning to me. "We are in Alabama my dear lady" I said driving until I found a park near our room door. She looked at me kind of surprised. "Did you just say?"
"Yup." I cut her off taking the keys out the ignition.
"Are you kidding me? This place of all places?"
"What's wrong with Alabama?"
"Nothing its just well. Where will be staying?"
"Here"
"For how long?"
"Augh you worse than that red head lady asking questions early in the morning" I groaned making her suck her teeth. She rolled her eyes getting out the car behind me. "Fine. Im guessing you got this all planned out Mr.Bell." she said opening the backseat to grab luggage.
