Jun POV

Beep! Beep! Beep!

I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock. I sucked my teeth as I covered my ears with my pillow. Suddenly it stopped beeping and Jalani stood beside my bed towering over me. "Get up Lazy" she said with her hands on her hips. I sucked my teeth as I sat up on the bed. "Okay Im up now get out" I said hitting her with a pillow but she blocked it from hitting her face.

"Okay but I have to ask you something." she said nervously messing with her nails. I gave her a look as of telling her to continue. She took a deep breath before looking up at me. "Okay sooo... Remember some weeks back when you gave me permission to talk to that guy I liked?" she asked and I nodded slowly.

"What about it Lani?" I asked throwing my legs over the side of the bed. "Well... He asked me out on a date" she said and I gave a straight face. She opened her mouth to continue but I stopped her. "No." I said simply and she sucked her teeth as I got up. I walked over to my dresser feeling her eyes watching my every move. "Shouldn't you be getting ready for school?" I asked getting annoyed at her presence.

She sighed dramatically "come on Jun. This isn't fair!" she whined. "You expect me to let you go somewhere with a nigga I ain't even met? Fuck outta here life ain't fair." I said nudging pass her to exit my room. She sucked her teeth and stormed out behind me going a separate direction. "Ma!" she yelled and I chuckled at her as I made my way to the bathroom.

"What girl. What are you yelling about?" you could hear my mothers loud voice. The voices was muffled by the water as I began to take a shower. After I spent about 15 minutes in there I finished up my hygiene stuff and got dressed. After I finished up I walked out and headed to the dining room. I picked up my bag from the couch on my way in and saw my mom and Jalani sitting across each other at the kitchen table.

They both looked up and me and Jalani had a little smirk on her face. I raised a brow as I sipped on my water. "Jun let your sister hang out with that boy." mama said getting up to put away her coffee mug. I furrowed my brows "ma me and her already discussed this. Besides I haven't even met ole boy yet so my answer is still no." I said with a shrug and continued to drink my water. I saw Jalani sucked her teeth and roll her eyes in my peripheral vision.

"Well then Jalani he has a point. Just introduce your little friend to your brother." mama said cleaning over the countertop. Jalani folded her arms across her chest and mumbled something inaudible. "Im sorry what was that?" I asked leaning in for her to speak up. "I said you already met him" she snapped while glaring at me.
I got confused and disposed of my empty water bottle. "Oh yeah? Who is he then?" I asked her and she was hesitant before she told me. "Oh hell nah" I said walking out the room. I could hear mama nagging about me swearing but I ignored her. The nerve of this nigga.

We waited for Bryson outside his gate. Jalani nervously played with the strings of her hoodie. She'd occasionally glimpse up at me and we'd make eye contact. She opened her mouth but I held up my hand and pinched my fingers together. In a gesture of telling her to close it.

Soon there was a sound of a door opening and closing following some footsteps. I didn't bother to turn around. The gate opened beside me and Bryson came out with that dumb smirk on his face. He was about to dap me up but I gave him a cold stare. He retrieved his hand and raised a brow at me.

"Wussup bro you aight?" he asked and I just chuckled and shook my head. The nerve of this nigga man. He shrugged then started walking up to Jalani. "Morning beautiful." he said giving her a hug and she forced out a small smile. Bryson furrowed his brows and looked her in her face. "Whats wrong love?" he asked concerned and Jalani shrugged looking up at me slyly.
