Amari POV
"Ready or not. Here I come!" I yelled uncovering my eyes to see the empty field in front of me. I furrowed my brows as I scanned my surroundings. They couldn't have gone that far. I paused.. did I just hear?... my eyes lit up. Yes the giggles of my silly younger sister nearby. But where was she and Jun?
I continued to follow the giggles and the sound of the crunching leaves. "I'm coming for you Mariah!" I yelled now tip toeing trying to make less noise as possible. The giggles ceased along with the leaves shuffling. I paused underneath the big oak tree puzzled. "I could have sworn I heard..." I started to myself before I felt a sudden presence behind me.
I slowly turned around "BOO!" The two shouted at me before erupting into a fit of laughter. I held my chest feeling my heart jump against my hand. I couldn't help but to laugh at their silliness. The two hanging from the tree by the legs. "You fools!" I said tapping their foreheads. "Get down before you hurt yourself" I said helping Mariah down back on the ground.
"Give me a kiss and I'll get down" Jun said rocking back and forth by his long legs like a wing. I rolled my eyes before grabbing his face and leaning in. He puckered his lips for me which I gladly placed mine. "Mmm... I never kissed upside down before. But I think I like the original was better because I can feel the blood rushing to my brain" he said shutting his eyes right before flipping off the tree.
He held his head squinting his eyes at me and Mariah as we laughed. After we gathered our things we all got in the car. It was a beautiful sunset as we left the field where we had just ate. It was Mariah's idea for this picnic and I'm more than glad we went through with it. It would be dark by the time we got home to our home.
As the sky darken from the pretty pink to the dark purple skies. I watched our scenery from the passenger side window. I glimpsed in the rearview mirror to see Mariah knocked out with her head rested on the side of the door. I smiled feeling Jun gently grab my hand as he drove. I studied his profile as he was focused on the road. I smiled to myself.. how did I get to lucky.
"Stop staring creep. Take a picture it'll last longer." He teased making me suck my teeth and break the gaze. "Shut up ugly" I mumbled looking down on my phone. He chuckled before raising my hand up to his lips and pecking them softly. "Babe you know I love you right?"
I smiled still looking down at my phone. "Who doesn't love me? Everyone loves me" I said flipping my hair and batting my eyes like I was all that. He sucked his teeth before nudging my head "whatever!" He said. "I'm kidding. I lov- JUN LOOK OUT!!!!"
