2days before thanksgiving

Amari POV

I sat down the last box and stood up straight running my fingers through my hair. I inhaled deeply through my nose taking it all in. A big smile spreading on my face. Oh my gosh I'm so relieved and happy! We are finally out of that cramped run down old motel room. Thank God!! Finally our own real place like we pay actual bills with real neighbors. A real yard. Real landlord. Etc.

Mariah has her own room her own bed oh my gosh did I mention we finally have a kitchen and a wholereal living room!? Okay sorry sorry I'm rambling *laughs to self* But I'm just so excited. You all know I wasn't use to the living condition we was in i mean look where I grew up. A big house with more than enough space and extra. Believe me I'm grateful that we even had a roof over our heads to sleep under.

I couldn't hide the smile that was on my face right now as I looked around our apartment. "So I'm guessing you like it" Jun said in my ear behind me and soon wrapped his long strong arms around my torso. I sighed happily before turning to look at him. "Like it? I freaking love it! Omigosh baby we finally got our own place!" I said doing a little happy dance in his embrace.

He laughed at me "Yeah. Well how bout we bless our new place." He said kissing my jaw to my neck making me giggle. I opened my mouth but before I could say a word little feet were running towards us. I grabbed his face and pushed it away as Mariah entered the room. "Hey baby girl. You like your new room?" Jun asked her with his chin in the crook of my neck.

She nodded with a huge smile. "Yes I could see the whole neighborhood from here and the playground!" She said excitedly making me smile. "Can I go outside to meet the kids and play?"

I frowned my face a little I know their only kids but we're in a new neighborhood and I didn't even know the kids parents. But I guess it won't hurt as long as I watch her from the window. Jun spoke before I could even get a sound out. "Go head mini me." Then she took off to get her shoes and was out before anyone could protest. I removed Jun's arms from around me before kneeling down to retrieve my box.

I felt sting across my bottom making me hiss and jump up. I still hate it when he does that. "Can you believe a year ago we were in New Orleans about to graduate?" I smiled taking out a picture I had brought with me. It was a pic of me and Tasha at her family reunion.

I sighed we had so much fun that day. It was just hot as hell. As I unpacked I saw some more memories and pictures of our friends back home. I laughed and cried at some... I missed my friends so much.. gosh I wonder what everyone is doing back home.

Tasha POV

"Oh my gosh I can't believe you waited the last minute to go shopping Tasha." Jalani said to me as she got into the passenger seat and buckled up. "You sound like Amari" I teased playfully rolling my eyes and cranking up the car. It never fails I do this last minute shopping thing every year. Normally Amari goes with me but yall know how it is now so I brought Jalani.

Me and Jalani have gotten really close since Amari and Jun left. But trust me no one could ever replace the bond that me and Amari have. I miss my girl.. But she's happy so I'm glad for her. I know Jalani misses her big brother even though she doesn't speak of it much. I know it hurts that both her brothers are gone. That's why I try my best to get her out of the house.

The girl has been stuck under her mama since Jun left. I understand she is all Jalani has but she can't stop living a bit. Even though she's pregnant and tend after her mother she's still young.

We pulled up to the grocery store and I found a park fairly close to the door. "Alright let's go." I said unbuckling my seatbelt and getting out the car. We made sure we had everything before we locked the doors and went inside. "Damn it's packed in here" Jalani said with her eyes wide once she saw the large crowd of people.
