Amari POV
I sat down indian style on the middle of my bed. I stared down at the loose leaf paper I had laying in my lap. My pencil tapped nervously against my chin while I read the same words over and over: "Dear Robert I know this is sudden..." I sighed in frustration. Why is this so hard? You would think that it would be easier for me to put the words on paper rather than actually saying it in person. But its just as hard.
There was a soft knock on my room door. I raised my head before placing my book and pen beside me on the bed. "Come in" seconds later my little sister came in with her Ipad dressed to go. She looked up and smiled as she approached my bed taking a seat across from me. She sat indian style as well. "Im ready Mari." she said before going back to tapping on her ipad.
I nodded running my fingers through my hair. Today I was going with Jalani and Tasha to pick up our prom dresses which was 4 days away. I was more than nervous not just because I wanted for the night to be perfect but it was what was occurring afterwards that I was worried about. Not that my heart and mind changed just that I don't want anything to go wrong.
As I was finishing up on getting ready Tasha waltz into my room. "Yall ready yet?" she asked tossing her purse on my bed and taking a seat next to Mariah. Who was too busy with her headphones in her ears to hear Tasha come in the room. She noticed her after she felt the bed sink down beside her and looked up with a small smile.
I nodded as I put my hair up in a high pony tail. "Yup. Just gotta grab my phone and lock up then we can go." she nodded getting up from the bed and tapping Mariah leg to get her attention. They exited my room before me and out the front door while I double checked to make sure everything was good. I locked the front door and made way over to Tasha's car getting into the passenger's seat.
Tasha turned on the radio and Tru by Lloyd was just coming to an end. I sung the last bit of the song before a different song came on. Tasha did a dramatic gasp as she turned up the music. "Omigosh this is my soon to be baby daddy right here." she said singing the lyrics to the song and dancing in her seat. "Who?" I asked laughing at her outburst.
"Trey duh" she said still humming and tapping her wheel to the beat.
"Trey?" I asked with furrowed brows.
"Songz" she said in a duh tone.
I still didn't know who that was so I left it alone. "How do you not know who Trey is?" she asked surprised.
I shrugged "I don't know. I guess Im just not into his music."
She shook her head "you're crazy. Mariah do you know who Trey Songz is?" she asked my sister.
Mariah nodded not looking up from her Ipad. "How does your sister know who he is and not you?"
I shrugged again before typing up his name in my phone. Perhaps I know him when I see a pic of him. His picture popped up on my phone and I was still clueless. "Is this him?" I asked her holding up my phone.
"Yes that's my future baby daddy. He is fine as hell." she said pulling up to Jalani's house. I studied his face and laughed "he reminds me of Jun"
Tasha scrunched up her face at me before we got out. "How?"
"His dimples and smile... They just look a little bit alike."
She looked at his picture on my phone and frowned. "You're kinda right. Ewww why you had to ruin it." she whined shoving the phone back making me laugh. We all had walked to the door because Mariah had wanted to see Ms.James since it had been a while. Tasha knocked on the door and moments later Jalani answered with a smile.
