Chapter Five: Hell
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Anna's POV
"And now, here we are, sadly and slowly waiting for that fateful day..." Johnny, a dark and lonely boy read his short poem in front of our English class as I started to daze off.
It had been too long of a Thursday and I just wanted to get home. I looked up at the clock, anticipating the ticking minutes to end the day; to hurry up and finish the period. The class clapped and the noise pushed me out of my reverie, bringing me back to earth. Johnny was done his long, sorrowful lament and the next person, Katie, a quirky and always smiling girl--the total opposite of what Johnny was--goes up to the front of the class. I had already presented my boring and lame short poem to the class. It had been about the seasons.
I didn't even notice that I had started to travel to 'la-la land', until the bell rang, signalling that this treacherous and slow day was finally over.

The next day, Friday, had been the same: boring, lazy and delaying; the six hours of my sad, unenthusiastic life never to be bought back from the past or at least to be spent trying to be adventurous.
Though last period English, there was something new and different. I walked into the classroom as the bell rang, a few other kids already in their seats and few others talking to their friends. There was a T.V set up in the front of the class, signalling that we weren't doing anything today in class, just watching a movie or a Shakespeare play. But that's not what was new or different. It was the dark haired boy that had seated himself quietly into the back corner of the room, gazing down at the empty piece of paper on his desk. A new kid.
I looked at him as I walked down the aisle that led to my seat. I sat at the back of the room too, just on the whole other side of the classroom. I took my seat and stared at the front, not wanting anything to do with the new kid. Last time I had done that, it turned terribly when the new kid got popular and was now the biggest and most evilest girl in the world! Brittany Benson, the definition of blonde haired, blue eyed, rich and perfect girl--well that's what every other girl in the school thought of her.
Our teacher was already at her desk, reading over something and every so often looking up and glaring at the kids who were either still standing up, or talking. But they didn't listen or care about what our teacher had to teach...and right now, last period on a Friday, I didn't either.
Finally Ms. Morrison had had enough and stood up, loudly screeching her chair on the floor, making me and a few other kids to cringe at the noise.
"Be quiet everyone! Take your seats already!" She yelled out to us but only looked at the kids who were slowly retreating to their desks.
I leaned back in my chair and turned my head to the right, away from the windows that I sat right beside and to the new boy. I looked at him from the corner of my eye; from the two rows that were in between us and saw that he was now looking up, but not at our teacher. He was staring up at the posters we had to make as projects. They were based off of the beliefs and folklore of different cultures. Mine ha debentures one of the few other ones about Greek mythology; it was the easiest and quickest one to research.
As Ms. Morrison started talking again, I diverted my attention away from the poor fated boy who got stuck in this school, and looked at our teacher. She was talking about the movie we were watching in class. This was going to be another long period in Hell.

Incubus' POV
I don't understand why he put me here, in the daylight, in between all these annoying, superficial and oddly amusing mundanes!? They were boring, lazy and smelt funny. Some of them actually even reminded me of the crazy, ill minded demons who were corrupted beyond sanity. And some if them, I recognized, as my very own, special victims and I grinned every time I saw or walked past them.
I hated the sun. I hated these stupid brats who couldn't deal with the fact of spending another hour in this building--as if it was going to kill them...
I hated the noise they made; I hated the way they walked and talked and looked. And I especially hated the way those mundane a looked at me as if I was either a walking, talking statue which came to life, or a real life Adonis. I hated then all when they were awake. This wasn't the adventure or responsibility he told me it would be, it was Hell! Or worst than it!
Oh, and the Devil didn't have horns--just creepy cat-like red eyes that stared into your soul and felt as though he was ripping it apart while it was still intact with your body.
