•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Chapter Twenty : Dead Hearts
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Incubus' POV
It was midnight but I wasn't out stealing dreams like I usually was.
Instead, I lay in bed, wide awake, not knowing where Starlight was or where Luna was either. Did she go back to where we first came from? Him? Or is she wandering around? Is she even a soul?Sighing out loud into the silent air, I ran a hand through my shaggy, pale hair. I sat up. Looked around my really messy room. I couldn't see the floor through the piles of lazily thrown clothes and pillows and my navy blue comforter.
I stood up and found a pair of black jeans, a black shirt and my long trench coat lying around the floor. There was a pair of boxers lying around too and I almost considered pulling then on but was too lazy and late to. I had to get out and 'fuel up'. I needed dreams.

Anna's POV
It was around midnight when I woke. I don't know exactly as to what had woken me up, but here I was, wide awake, unable to fall back asleep.
Almost as if I was waiting for something or someone.
I stared up at the ceiling of my room, the shadow of a trees branches cast along it. But it wasn't the moon that was casting the light--the moon had disappeared behind the constant grey that the clouds seemed to cast. It was something else entirely.
I turned my heavy head to my left, staring out the window into the night sky. It was finally cloudless, yet the moon wasn't out. It either seemed to hide behind clouds, or to vanish and completely leave the world in deep darkness.
The stars were out, at least. I suddenly felt a urge, tingly and almost irresistible, come over me. It started at my legs, climbing its way up my thighs and over my stomach, like a cool, sensational and smooth snake.
Still moving upward, it slithered over my shoulders and up my neck. It climbed its way to my face and finally, to my eyes, clouding my vision with a red cloud. Everything instantly became red.
And I lost control over my own body, my own mind.

Incubus' POV
It was almost 2 in the morning and I had managed to rob ten people of their sweet dreams. It felt great. I felt great. And evil. Like a demon should be.
I was walking along the sidewalk that ran through town: walking along the closed, dark shops that would have humans and life floundering through them during the day. Right now they looked haunted and dead. I liked it.
Kicking a discarded, empty soda can, I got lost in my own world. A noise bought me out if my deep reverie and I looked up, alert.
A human.
She was walking along the same sidewalk as I was, just on the other end of it, coming towards me. She couldn't see me. I had just stole dreams and was still a bit high off of them. My human appearance was down and I was walking with my big, black trench coat flowing in the wind, red eyes, bright and agonized, and my fangs pointing out from my top lip. She would question everything in her existence if she saw me.
