Anna's POV

I lay awake in my messy, humid bed. I couldn't sleep--or wouldn't let myself fall asleep. I had been haunted for the past week, of the same, reoccurring, frightening and bloody nightmares. Every night. Sometimes I even got flashes of them while I was awake.

My purple curtains were wide open, letting the bright, pale moonlight stream into my relatively dim room. I sighed in frustration as I stared up at my ceiling, waiting for my body to drift off into unconsciousness. I didn't want to sleep, but who could resist the urge after nine fitful and disturbed nights? In that past week I had barely gotten any sleep and right now, trying to stay awake wasn't really a great option. Nevertheless, I got up and strolled into my bathroom, wanting and hoping that a shower would help me escape my drowsiness.

I didn't bother shutting the door to my bathroom behind me and started to slip out if my pyjamas. I stepped into the shower, not even testing for warm water, and instantly sighed in relief. The water was a bit cold but was slowly merging into the hot water I needed. The cold water helped wake me up a bit but the hot water just made me feel even more sleepy. I turned the knob to switch the steamy water back into the slightly freezing one I had been standing in before. I was instantly hit with cold water and gasped as it hit my warm skin. I could feel myself and my mind waking up.

Running my hands through my wet hair and pondering about useless, irrelevant things in my life, I froze when I heard and felt it. It was so quiet that if my mind hadn't been so alert, I wouldn't have even noticed it. Also, considering the fact that I could sense and feel it behind me...it just made me dread my plan to stay up all night even more.

A slight, almost silent sigh. It sounded...relieved and relaxed--well I didn't!

It exhaled, and I could feel its warm breath on my neck and the feel of warmth its body radiated waft towards my cold one. Its presence made the cold water turn warm again and I stupidly and curiously wondered if it had actually turned the knob to switch the water into the temperate it liked.

I really didn't want to turn around. But being the curious and impossibly intrigued person I am, I slowly turned, my hands still in my hair and my breath starting to slowly come out in shallow breaths as I anticipated what I would behind me--in the shower--while I was butt naked.

Gasping I took a step back as I fully turned around to face whoever the creep was that had gotten into my bathroom. I turned and stared. There was no one. But what about the relieved sigh and the breath on the back of my neck? What about the water turning hit again? what about the feeling of someone's presence behind me? Was it just my sleep deprived brain making up things? I hope so...

Standing stuck in my fatal position of staring at an empty space in the shower, with my hands up in my hair, I sighed and smiled a little crazily to myself. What had I been thinking? A person was in the shower with me? Did I need a boyfriend that much? Someone to spend time with maybe?

I turned around and washed my hair, no longer worrying about the 'incident' that had just happened. I started to uselessly ponder of the unimportant thing in my life. Like school. I was so off and far away in my daydream world that I almost screamed when I felt it again. The presence but this time...a hand too. I felt a freezing hand on my waist and warm breath on the back if my neck. I could the same presence of someone behind me, holding my body in place with their hands on my waist.
