Chapter Nineteen:Fight or Flight
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

Incubus' POV

I stare down at the multiple sheets that I had crumpled angrily and fisted in my hands. What were we? Experiments? Why was Starlight taking notes on us?

Turned 16 today.
Tall, growing muscular.
Habit of sneaking around.
Loves to scare the crap out of people...

The last one had me slightly smiling but I immediatelyscowled when I realized what I was doing. He had been watching and taking simple but ridiculous notes on me. How long had he been doing this? Why was he doing this? Did whoever break in, want these? The only part of the house that was trashed was Starlight's room after all...

I decided to look around an grab the ones the qualified to me. It was selfish and rude but I did end up grabbing one of Luna's too. I hope Starlight didn't notice.

Gazing down intently and thoughtfully, I walked down the street that would soon lead me straight to the library. I don't know why I was going, but something, maybe a weird supernatural sixth sense--considering I was a demon--was pulling me toward it.

My shaggy hair fell into my eyes and I repeatedly and impatiently brushed it away. I was staring down at the sidewalk, occasionally looking up, while walking. I was too deep in thought to strut around and observe the roaming humans and environment like I usually did.

The library came into my view but instead of walking towards it and climbing the stairs, I walked towards it and sauntered around the white brick building; to the alley.

It was strange and I thought to myself --not for the first time since I started walking here--why I was even going. I hated the library; I hated to read; I hated people especially kids--and there were lots of them inside.

My mind wandered and my body unconsciously did too. I soon found myself in the middle of a group of buff, rough and evil looking guys. I couldn't even explain how they looked.

Big, muscly and glowing eyes. Demons. Envy demons.

These guys usually would take on the forms of a pretty blonde girl that would make every other girl around her jealous. Or a tall, tough guy with a hot girlfriend and a nice ride, that would make every other human guy around him feel like a toothpick with no such thing as social skills or a girlfriend.

I didn't envy them. Especially not in this form. In fact, they envied me.

"Prince," the shortest one of them greeted. "We just saw a few of the Fear demons. They were wandering around town like it was nothing and that there weren't any humans around to see them. Would you like to punish them?" Envy demons were smart when it came to making humans jealous; they fed off of that stuff. But they weren't so smart generally--humans couldn't see demons while they were in their demonic form; humans could only see them when they had possessed a human body.

"Thank you for telling me"--I looked around the group of at least five Envy demons--"and I would like to punish them--but I can't unless he allows it. I'm not the creator--I can't punish any demon unless it's ok," I inform them. I hope the Devil let me hurt them. As the Night Prince, I would almost have equal control as the Devil, over the demon race. I just had to learn and adapt to my 'special abilities' that Starlight had secretly written and talked about.

Luna needed vengeance and I needed revenge.

I hadn't gotten permission from him because firstly, I could care less; secondly, I had gotten a bit drunk and didn't even care what I was marching into by the time I saw a mini group of Fear demons strolling around. I had the Envy demons behind me--who were completely sober--and so it obviously seemed like--as I looked into the faces of each Fear demon and pointed my finger accusingly at them-- that we were ready and urging to start up a fight.

I was too drunk to care.

"Look 'ere!" One of the Envy demons yelled out to the Fear demons just as I opened my mouth to say something.

I looked over my shoulder at him--at his human vessel--and gave him the best 'shut-the-f*ck-up-or-else' look I could in this drunken state. He shut up immediately and closed his mouth.

"Okay! So, firstly..." My mind wandered and I thought for a bit as to what I had wanted to say. "Oh yeah...Where's Thalus?" I waited for one of them to answer. None of them did because all four of them looked as though they were dizzy, confused. "My servant? My maid? My...butler? My...bitc--"

"You called sire?" I heard his voice whisper into my ear from right behind me and I lazily turned around to look at his shadowy face.

"Yeah,"

"What would you want me to assist you with?"

"Them," I said as I jabbed my thumb in the direction of the four confused Fear demons.

Thalus looked up, from hovering in front of my face, and up to the Fear demons who had gathered a bit closer.
His pale, blank eyes almost seemed to absorb the one that was standing the closest to us, all in before--really quickly that it was almost non existence--he swiped their human vessels head off. With what? I didn't know and didn't care.

The other three that were still alive and haunting, decided that they wanted to die and stayed put, holding their human fists up and getting into a position that unconsciously said that they wanted to fight.

So we fought.

My lazy, drunk, careless facade instantly disappeared and I was the first one to charge forward. It was almost silly, like we were a bunch of fifth graders who were fighting over who got to sit on the swings first in the park.

I ran, until I reached the Fear demon who's vessel looked like a wimpy Ken doll. I would love to mess up his face.

Every other demon stopped, a second passed before they blinked and I threw a punch, hard and dislocating. Ken doll's head snapped back and when he came to look at me again, he had an ugly purple bruise in the side of his jaw already and black blood starting drip from the open skin.

I grinned, evilly, and ducked as he swung his arm at me, trying to strike me. I guess another 'ability' that the Devil gifted me with was speed. I was fast. Three of the Envy demons didn't even have to fight as the other one and Thalus and I fought against the three Fear demons.

Three against three. We were equally matched with skills, height and maybe even weight.

Ken doll and I were at the corner, the other two pairs fighting each other off. I was stuck in the moment, the void that had sucked me in. Adrenaline was what my body was living off of in this moment. My brain was charged, wired into thinking thoughts of nothing else but how to beat this idiot up. My heart pumped with blood, black blood, that was poisoned with the large amount of adrenaline coursing through it.

I was gone, stuck in a world where everything moved in slow motion and life was lived off of, not blood, but the electric feeling of power and strength.

The fight was over before it even started. In my slow motion world, I hadn't realized that I was--repeatedly --punching the crap out of Ken doll and that Thalus and the other Envy demon had beat the brain cells out if the other two Fear demons long before.

I had finished my fight long ago too, I just hadn't realized it or didn't want to stop until the Fear demon felt the pain I felt when I found out I had lost Luna. Until he realized the pain i felt when i saw that I had a sister I never knew of and they took her away from me before I could even learn to remember her face.

I was a angry mess, but wasn't I always?
