This was it. Finally! I didn't have to hide behind the false facade of this innocent, harmless human getup. Anna could now see me in my true form, as I truly am. A demon.
The stupid demon summoned me, I already knew what for, and didn't even have the chance to greet me before I ripped at his throat, ending him. It really amused and scared the other demons.
All of these demons were Fear demons--the ones that were on our side--mine and Starlight's side that is. The rest of these irritating and bothersome demons decided that they didn't want to be the 'crappy and loser-ish' demons that are looked down upon so much by the Devil. Well, it's not his fault that they love to possess, haunt and annoy humans to the point where the Fear demons have been found out about. Now, for most non-skeptical (because humans are persistent with their 'beliefs') humans, Fear demons are a reality. The Devil did not want any puny human to find that out and now, since they don't care and are too stupid to care, the Fear demons continue to make themselves known and more and more humans are getting to know about the world that they shouldn't know about.
Now I stand here, over the dead demon who's life was not too great, smiling at my target. Anna. Her eyes were closed and then she opened them, staring at my wrecked self with big, doe eyes. Wow, she was so innocent.
She shut her eyes again as I licked my bloody, smirking lips. I laughed aloud as I felt her disgust and more intriguing, her fear towards me.
I walked over to where Starlight stood, watching me along with the other 30 or so demons. There were more arriving, I could feel it. They were attracted to the demonic power this place currently held and they would come to it like a moth to a flame. They would either be on our side of the war, or they wouldn't. And if they weren't the demons that would aid us, they would die a brutal death; more severe and long lasting than the one I gave the poor old 'officer Darwin'.
It was a time where Starlight and I would put those bastard demons back in their dirty places and the time where I would arrive to the Underworld with Anna along my side and earn a permanent spot beside the Devil in ruling Hell. Well, Starlight and I already sort of did because of our status.
Starlight opened his mouth to speak to me but before he could utter a word a sound came, thrashing and oblivious to the intensity of these moments.
I sensed them before we all saw them. Humans...
The two of them, a man and a woman, came tumbling through the thicket of trees and upon this grand, unique and suspicious scene. But of course they would be dead before they could even scream for their lives.
"Uh..." The man, not too old from my own age and not too young from Starlight's age (which probably made him about 23) uttered out stupidly. From my peripheral vision, I saw Anna flick her eyes open again and turn her head towards the two new arrivals. She opened her mouth to scream the one thing that she could: "Help me!"
The two humans swivelled their heads towards her and then back towards Starlight and I. I guess it wasn't hard to find the people in charge around here, even for humans who lacked so much information of what they've gotten themselves into.
"What's going on?" I'm glad the lady asked that.
"A war. Between creatures you will never learn to understand or trust. Heck, you won't even be able to experience the horror you'll feel when you you lay your eyes on their true forms, you know why? Because you're both gonna die now." I looked over at Anna to see her reaction. She was watching me with curiosity, confusion and fear all over her face. "We can't have you two running around with all you've seen already." Of course they hadn't seen anything but I couldn't spare humans, I loathed them and plus, I wanted Anna to fear me as much as she started to like me.
Still watching Anna, I stepped down from the platform nature created and walked, slowly and purposefully toward the two awestruck, confused and scared-out-of-their-wits humans. Oh this is my day. After being stuck, starving and needing dreams, the soul was the straight and filling answer I could come up with. It was better than taking lousy dreams.
It took me a few silent, still and deathly moments to finally reach the two humans. I could sense their fear from all the way across the meadow we were all gathered in.
I faced them, staring intently and seriously into both their eyes. Looking back and forth from a pair of frightened blue eyes to horrified green eyes (which were the man's...), I tilted my head and watched them until Anna apparently couldn't take it anymore.
"Run! Run away from him! From here!" She screamed from the post she was strung to. "Get the police!"
A smile lifted the corners of my still slightly bloodied mouth, but I kept my red eyes on two humans the whole time as they stared dumbly at Anna. They switched their gazes back to me and instantly, when they saw my smirking face, were once again struck by the powerful wave of fear. They stuck there this time, mouths gaping and eyes almost bulging out if their heads, even when Anna screamed and thrashed her arms and legs. They were struck by my eyes. Another legacy? I had to try it out.
"Go stand there," I pointed to where Starlight fascinatingly watched. "And slit each others throats open with whatever you can." It was cruel and evil and disgusting, but I was cruel and evil and disgusting.
So I, along with every demon and human watched as they walked their way over to Starlight, on the flat rock and began to claw at each others throats with their hands. Wow, I didn't expect that...
There was a scream as blood started to fly and splatter and I looked to the source of it. Anna. I pushed my way through the surprised, intrigued and interested demons as they watched the scene and over to Anna.
I didn't mean for there to be human blood, but they got in the way and I was annoyed and on a high from Darwin's soul. Crouching down to her shaking, closed up body, I tired a different tact. One that would knock her off and confuse her so much.
"Anna," I whispered in a soothing voice and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Leave me alone!" She screamed and I pretended to flinch and pull my hand away.
"Hey, what's wrong? What's going on with you?" I asked softly.
She didn't say anything but slowly peaked one eye through the tangle of her arms and looked at me.
"Andrew...? What's going on?"
"What do you mean? What's going on with you?" I ask with a curious tone.
She looked around us and suddenly, we were in a empty forest, not one with a bunch of yellow-eyed demons and two humans clawing their throats out.
But that of course, was only because I wanted her to think that.
