Chapter 21
Lily's POV
(Two weeks later)
No one really did anything about Noah and myself. Some people weren't so excited about it. *cough* GiGi *cough* the imbeciles *cough* most of the popular side *cough*
I gotten to really know Noah even more than before. HEY THAT RHYMES!! Oh sorry continuing.
Usually when we're telling each other dark secrets or stories it's usually lying on the floor at one of our houses, the tree house in my backyard, or on the floor at one of our secret places.
Whenever we're mad, sad, have great or bad news, whatever, we go to our secret place. It's pretty much a hill looking over some scenery of the city. There's a tree that we'd sit at and just talk and vent our feelings. Nice place to meditate or do yoga. A place where Noah and I can just hide from the world and just see each other. We always do this every Saturday when we can. If possible, after school.
Our other secret place is on the top of the roof of the school. The place where Noah asked me to the Christmas dance. We usually just eat lunch there.
We haven't visited our secret hiding places since a week ago.
Right now Noah and I were helping my dad with cleaning and fixing up the attic. Making it look nicer. We ended up fixing up and organizing the attic for about three hours. The pains of my existence only helped for about not an hour or even half an hour. Just ten minutes. Ugh.
Noah and I were looking through old photo albums. Pictures of my brothers from when they were little. Bringing Nick home. The boys ripping up Christmas presents. When each of the boys graduated preschool.
Some of the other albums we looked through were mostly of my brothers or my parents when they were younger.
There was one albums of my parents that read on the front.
"Love doesn't go the way we want it to go not because it wants to be like that.....it just finds its way through. Sometimes it leads us to that one special person."
On the inside cover it read,
"To Cynthia Grace
You were and will always be my love. If I haven't met you in high school and took me as I was, I wouldn't have met you. The woman I will always love."
It had my dad's signature and a date on the first page.
"2/17/1978-3/3/2009"
Today's the 3rd.....
It's been five years.
Tears are streaming down my face.
"Lily what happened?" Noah was concerned.
I hand him the album. After he read it, he rushed and gave me a bug hug held me there for a while. My dad comes up to the attic and sees us.
"Am I interrupting something?" he asked.
I looked at him, and he instantly knew.
"It can't be. Is it?" his voiced cracked. He took the photo album and left without a word.
I had finally stopped crying. I know I sound so girly and so sensitive, but I was involved the incident.
"Lily, I'm sorry to ask, but what happened?" Noah asked.
I sat in his lap. His arms wrapped around me. And I began the story.
"It happened exactly five years ago......" I began. I remembered every moment of it.
