Chapter 12
(Skipping ahead to the week of the Christmas dance)
Noah's POV
It has been almost a week or so since I found out two things. 1.) Guys are allowed well "supposed to" bring a date to the dance. 2.) Lily hasn't been asked out yet.
I've been watching every guy that talks to Lily and ask her what they say. Not to sound stalkerish or overprotective. I really want to ask Lily out as my date, but I want to do it memorable. Like with a little bit of pizzaz.
I'm in class one day paying attention to the teacher, though end up drifting into la la land finding out a way to ask Lily to the dance.
Although.... if I do ask her to be my date.... would she accept.
And now I suddenly think of this?!?! Gahh!
Anyways, I stayed after school with Lily, Chrissy, and Damian. If you're wondering, Damian is a friend I made a week ago when he came to the school. Moving on, the four of us are sitting in the bleachers watching a football game. Cheering on for Oliver. So far we're winning.
The halftime show is about to begin. "Noah," someone says. I look over to my right. It is Lily.
"Yea?" I responded.
"You going to the dance this Friday?"
"Yup. Are you?"
"Yea..."
Awkward silence begins...
"Did anyone ask you out to the dance?" I blurt out. I didn't mean to though.
I looked into her turquoise eyes. I could see the hints of green popping out. Her blondish brownish curly hair kept being swept by the cold, icy wind. She stuck a piece if her hair behind her ear. Lily looks beautiful. Lily IS beautiful.
Noah stop zoning out! I thought.
"I was...."
And now my opportunity is gone.
"Although..."
Although what?
"I haven't accepted any of them..."
Wait what?!
"Yea..." she rose an eyebrow.
I said that out loud didn't I?
"So technically," she continued, "I am still a single pringle for the dance."
YES!
"Yes what?" I said it out loud again didn't I?
"Ummm... nothing," happy dance on cue.
Wait...
What now...
I wanna ask her...
But how am I supposed to...
But also make sure he accepts....
Gahh!
Lily's POV
(The Next Day)
I'm here with Christine at the mall trying to find the perfect dress to go in for the Christmas Dance.
So far nothing.
"Did anyone ask you to the dance yet?" Christine asks out if the blue.
"Yea, though I never accepted any of them. What about you?" I wasn't sure if I should tell her about me wanting Noah asking me to the dance.
