Chapter 32 - Starry night.
*HALEY'S POV*
"Hame! You have to let me meet her soon!" I squeal
"Alright, alright" Hamish says, amusement laced in his tone, putting his hands on my shoulders, "calm down" he laughs
"But from what I've heard you guys are adorable" I say causing Hamish to smirk, "can't disagree with that"
"So, how about we meet up this weekend, we can watch a movie or something? I'll bring Carter if you bring Prim?" I ask him, raising an eyebrow he replies, "and what if I don't want to meet Carter?" he challenges
"Nice try, hame, but I know you better than anyone, you're just as protective as Jake and I'm sure you want to see what my boyfriend is like" I smirk
"Alright, you got me, I guess we could go on Saturday" he shrugs his shoulders
"Sounds good" I click my tongue as we continue the short walk to Hamishs house.
"So, how's everything with you Hame?" I ask him, adjusting my bag on my shoulders
"I'm alright actually. Doing good. You?" he asks,
"I'm great" I'm well aware of my toothy grin but at this point I don't care
"Hmm" I can pretty much hear the smirk in Hamishs voice.
"Let me take that for you" he says, lifting the bag effortlessly over my shoulders as he throws it over his own.
"Thanks hame, always the perfect gentlemen" I tease, grinning at him.
"That's me" he winks before he pulls out his house key, allowing me inside.
Hamish and I used to have 'starry nights' every fortnight, although no one really knew about it, it was just our thing. We would go to his house after studying in the library. He would make snacks and then go out and lay on the trampoline while staring up at the sky. We would talk to, about what was going on and everything, and we'd always help each other out with our problems. Hamish was one of my best friends after all and I couldn't imagine what I would've done without him to help me through the rough times. It's been a while since we had one though, with everything going on it's been hard to make room for our starry night and I couldn't help the guiltiness that came with the thought of Hamish being alone on our starry night while I was doing something with others.
"So, what snacks should I whip us up to eat today?" he asks, rubbing his hands together in anticipation.
"Hmm, how about some popcorn?"
"Coming right up" he jokes, grabbing a popcorn bag and putting it into the microwave.
