*Dylans POV*
"Are you crying?" I lean closer to Haley to get a better look at her face. Just as I thought, there are tears slowly streaming down her face as she stares at the screen. She ducks her head and her hair falls in curtains over her eyes as she attempts to cover her face from me.
"No" she tries weakly to deny the truth and I laugh lightly. God, she's so cute.
"I saw you, it's okay" I reassure her but she continues to hide her face.
The movie continues playing in the background but I've somehow managed to block it all out. I'm focused on Haley and only Haley as she tries to cover up her sniffles. I crawl over to her on the long couch and gently move her hands from her face.
When she realises I've caught her crying she gives me a small, embarrassed smile and attempts to duck her head again.
"Haley, stop doing that" I laugh again, pulling her hands away from her face. She looks up at me for a moment, staring deeply into my eyes as if trying to read me. I lean over her body and hug her, "you're so cute" I don't even realise the words tumble out of my mouth until I see the blush on her face. She pokes my cheek and smiles. I would hug her all day if I could. Her warmth is something that, no matter what, will cheer me up in my darkest of moments. I'll always thrive for her vanilla and honey scent and the way she buries her face into my neck.
Reluctantly, I lean back and sit beside her again, this time a little closer. I casually sling my arm around the back of the couch and she settles in next to
The movie continues playing on the TV screen, illuminating the small space around it but I can't seem to focus on the words coming out of the actors mouths. I look over to Haley once again, surprised to see her head jerk towards the TV as if I just caught her staring at me. The blush that paints itself onto her cheeks tells me I'm right and I let out a quiet, amused laugh.
"Take a picture, it'll last longer" I tease her further, she blushes again, her cheeks tainted red as she swats at my arm.
"You're such a jerk" she says, but the laugh that follows tells me she doesn't really mean it. I watch her as she laughs, as creepy as it, and admire her twinkling eyes.
"Now who's staring?" She smirks, her laughing subsiding.
"Oh no, I was just 'tryna find out what's on your face" I furrow my eyebrows in mock concentration as I point to a random spot on Haleys face.
"Wait, what? Oh my god" she covers her face with her hands self consciously, her smile completely gone as she hides her face.
"I'm kidding! There's nothing on your face" I laugh loudly, she amazes me with her gullibility everyday.
Her eyebrows furrow and she tries to look mad before a smile emerges on her face. "I hate you" she tells me and I put my hands up in mock surrender.
"It's not my fault you're incredibly gullible"
She rolls her eyes before returning her attention back on to the TV screen, much to my disappointment.
