Chapter 38 - Not so sweet

*HALEY'S POV*

I sigh, staring mindlessly at the wall while Carter talks on and on about something sports related.

"Haley?" he asks, peering over at me curiously

"Sorry, what were you saying?" I apologise and look at him. He smirks, continuing on with what he's saying.

I internally groan. Every moment with Carter used to be great and now it's just.. Bland. Nothing seems fun, he doesn't seem to take interest in the same things I do and he only really talks about sport.

I'm amazed, and annoyed, at how he hasn't noticed my lack of interest in the conversation. Usually, I try and try to contribute to the conversation and keep it going but today I'm just drained.

*CARTER'S POV*

I was almost sure that if I wasn't talking about sport, I would be bored out of my fucking mind. I mean, I'd kept this whole "nice boyfriend" act up for three weeks now and still, I didn't get shit from Haley.

Three weeks. Three whole damn weeks and still nothing.

I kept talking anyway, talking shit about sports and "talking" just like Haley likes but I wasn't even sure she was listening.

After taking shit from Jake, Dylan and all my douchebag friends about Haley, you'd think she would at least have sex with me to repay me.

I don't need her brother breathing down my fucking neck every time I come over. Is Haley even worth it? I mean, she's hot as hell, but there are so many other chicks that are just as hot.

Maybe, just maybe, I could have some fun while I was gone. What the hell, what Haley doesn't know, can't hurt her.

"I still need to pack for tomorrow" I told Haley, pouting like a pussy

She frowned, leaning into me slightly and I smiled. Kissing her before I gently pushed her off me.

"I should probably go anyway" I said sadly. Part of me was almost sad. It was only gonna be a week though. Then again, Haley wasn't too bad. Kinda annoying but still tolerable.
