Chapter 40

"Guys, guys!"

"Is she waking up?"

"(Name)?!"

"Is she alright?"

"(Name)-san!"

"(Name)-saaaaaan! Please wake up!"

"Dumbass! That's not helping at all!"

"Quiet down, she's waking up!"

You slowly opened your eyes and felt yourself lying down on something soft. It was a bed.

"W-wh... Where am I..."

"You're in the clinic, (Last name)-san." Kiyoko answered,placing the back of her hand on your forehead. "Your fever went down... That's good. Asahi-san, please call Chiyo-san and Mayumi-san."

With that, you heard a door being slid open.

"(Name)-san, do you remember what happened to you?" Daichi questioned, leaning on the wall.

"D-did I faint..?"

"Apparently, you did, (Name)," Yamaguchi said as he sat down on the stool next to the bed. "Your fever was really high... Why did you come here, anyway? You were sick!"

"I-I'm sorry..."

Everyone sighed, then Kageyama spoke.

"Good thing Tsukishima noticed at once. He carried you here."

Fuck. What?!

"Where is h-he?"

"Right here." You heard. You saw him stand from a corner and remove his headphones. "Can we please have some privacy? I'd like to talk to (Name) alone."

Everyone nodded and went out, except for Yamaguchi.

"I-is it okay if I stay here?"

"Whatever."

You gulped and stared at the ceiling. Then felt a flick your forehead.

"Ow! W-what was that fo-" you were cut off, and what you saw surprised you.

Tsukishima was frowning. Like, the 102% worried kind of frown.

"You idiot... You made me worry..." He stated, sitting on the edge of the bed.

"I'm really sorry, guys. I just..." You said, sighing.

"I just couldn't take it. I'm sick, I wanted to watch you guys go against Seijoh... I couldn't take you being mad at me, Tsukki... I disappointed you, Yamaguchi... I told you I would go and yet I got sick and here I am at the Seijoh clinic because I fainted."

Then the three of you sighed at the same time, which you and Yamaguchi found quite funny.

"Wait, w-who won?"

The two boys looked at each other and Yamaguchi just smiled.

"We did." Tsukishima said, smiling.

No, not a small smile. No, not a smirk. No, not that annoying smug look on his face.

But a proud, wholehearted smile.
 

"You didn't smile like that when we were on the court."

"Shut up, Yamaguchi."

You laughed.

"But as we won, we heard your friends shout your name and they were panicking... And it seemed Tsukki lost his shit because he ran to where you were and-"

"Yamaguchi."

"Aaaaaaand I guess that's when you fainted."

Well, that fucked it up. You thought as you mentally slapped yourself.

"Congratulations, guys... I'm so proud!" You stated, slowly sitting up.

"Well... Because people don't have wings, we look for ways to fly."
Tsukishima uttered, his face turning red.

"Tsukki, is that you?"

"Yeah. Maybe you got my cold?"

"Or did you get hit by Oikawa's scary serves?"

"Or mayb-"

"Shut up, both of you." He said, laughing a little.

You sat up completely and hugged your knees.

"Um... Yamaguchi, can me and Tsukki get some privacy? I-I need to talk to him... Is that okay?"

"O-of course! Excuse me!" He stated awkwardly, rushing out of the clinic.

It was now you and him.

"Tsukki, listen... I'm... I'm really-"

"Apology accepted... I'm sorry I was harsh."

"B-but..."

He covered your mouth with his hand and kissed the top of it.

"You're sick, and I don't want to get sick either. So shut up."

You nodded and he removed his hand. He sighed.

"Take your meds once you're home. No sicky on Tsukki. Hear me?"

"Oh my god, I can't believe you just said that."

"What?"

"That thing you just said! 'No sicky on Tsukki.' Holy fuck."

"Goddammit, (Name)."

As you, your friends and the Karasuno volleyball team exited the school,  you spotted the brunette once more, talking to Oikawa. She saw you too, and you saw her click her tongue in annoyance. You smirked and held your boyfriends hand. You passed by her and Oikawa, and mouthed a "fuck you" to her. Her eyebrows furrowed.

You internally pat yourself on the back, but then let out a sneeze.

"We should go home. Fast." Tsukishima spoke out of the blue, wrapping his arm around you.

"Take care of me." You said, leaning on him as you two and the group walked to the bus.

"No way, I'll get sick then."

"But you are already sick."

"What?"

You pointed to the side of your head. "Sick here."

Before he could even react, you made a run for it.

You shrub. The blonde thought.
