Chapter 19

In the end, Karasuno lost their practice match against Nekoma.

"Aww, cheer up Hinata-kun. You guys did great!" Mayu stated to the orange haired player, who was with Kageyama.  Chichi chatted with Sugawara, and you chatted with Nekoma's Kuroo Tetsurou.

"Awesome. But I'm sure they'll crush you next time." You winked. You both laughed out loud.

Your phone rang suddenly, and you excused yourself to answer it.

Moments after you hung up, you screamed in excitement. Everyone got scared.

"YES! YEEEEEEESSSS! FINALLY!" You exclaimed, running to Mayu and Chichi.

"We have a karate competition against another school next week! FINALLY!"

"OMG (Name)! Congratulations!" Chichi exclaimed.

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHH" Mayu screamed.

Tsukishima and Yamaguchi approached the three of you.

"(Name), y-you scared the hell out of me... Is something wrong?" Yamaguchi said, scratching the back of his head.

"Karate competition next week! I am PUMPED!" You replied enthusiastically.

"Keh, but are you part of it?" Tsukishima scoffed. You glared at the blonde while Yamaguchi pushed him out of your range of sight. 

"Good luck, (Name)! We'll go watch if we can! Tell us the details later!" the freckled boy stated from afar.

You screamed with your friends for a minute or two. Literally. The two promised to watch you compete, and they returned to chatting with whoever they were chatting with.

You went back to Kuroo, who was surprised.

"Y-you're into karate, huh? Guess you can really fight."

"Of course! Just because I'm a girl doesn't mean I can't put a fight, you know."

"Oh yeah?" He smirked. "Think you can punch me here on the arm?"

"Eh? N-nah, I don't really wanna hurt you, I just use it for self defen-"

"Don't worry! It won't hurt! I promise."

"O-okay, if you say so..."

Kuroo positioned himself and faced his arm towards you. "One more thing, please don't punch my face."

"Punch him in the face." 

"K-KENMA!"

You laughed, and punched his arm. His eyes widened, and his facial expression said it all.

Shit, that was a bit too strong--

"T-th-that w-was awes-some, (Last name)-s-san!" He stuttered, obviously in pain.

"I'm sorry! W-was it too hard?!"

"N-no!!! I p-promise it w-wasn't!" He replied, clutching his arm.

"I'M SORRY!" You bowed. Some of the other members were surprised, seeing Kuroo in pain. They all left with him, except the boy with the game console.

"That was fun." He stated blankly, a faint smile on his face.

"Lol," You said. "He asked for it though... I didn't mean to hurt him."

"He kinda deserves it, he's a jerk."

You laughed. He stood and left the gym. "See ya around, (Last name)-san."

You and the team were preparing to leave. Chichi went with the third years, Mayu with Kageyama and Hinata, and you with Yamaguchi and Tsukishima.

"Oh, I forgot something. Tsukki, (Name), you go on ahead. I'll follow." The freckled boy said, running back inside the gym. You told the blonde you'd follow. He shrugged and went with the others.

Outside the gym, Yamaguchi was just standing near the doors.

"Yamaguchi? I thought you forgot something?"

"I-I lied."

"What?"

"I knew you'd follow, (Name)... You've been the kind of person who'll go with someone if they forgot something somewhere..."

"I-is that even a thing..?"

Yamaguchi chuckled. "I just needed to talk to you... Alone..."

"Well, of course. Is something wrong, Yamaguchi?"

He breathed in.

"Do you... Do you like Tsukki?"

"Well, yeah... And you. You're my best friend. Why wouldn't I?"

"(Name)... More than that. Do you... like Tsukki?"

You fell silent.

"So... It's true..."

"Yamaguchi, did he tell you?.."

"No, he didn't... I just... Found out..."

"Yamaguchi-"

"(Name), did you confess to Tsukki?"

You furrowed your eyebrows. "What are y-"

"(Name), please... Just answer me..."

"...I-I did."

The freckled boy frowned. "Okay..."

He started walking back. Before making a turn, he stopped and spoke.

"But just so you know, (Name), Tsukki... He li-"

"Yamaguchi, why are you even asking me these things? Is this necessary?"
