the next day I was late. I could barley walk. my dad took all his anger out on me. and well, it didn't end well.

I felt the punched. the kicks. the comments spat at me. tears brimmed in my eyes as I walked slowly to school.

my physics teacher screamed at me for coming late. pressure piled on to me making me run out the door. I ran crying. I bumped into a tall boy.
"sorry-" it was josh. I dodged past time and ran faster. "cat?" I heard him running. then I tripped and fell.

I cried harder. I couldn't even run. that's how worthless I am. "Cat what's wrong?" he asks gently. I shook my head and wiped my eyes. "cat fam!" I look up to see Brendon running to me. "hi josh. cat, I swear I will kill that bitch for screaming at you. did anything happen at home-" I slapped his arm before he could continue.
"sorry. are yo okay?" he asks me.
"I guess" I manage to whisper.
"I'm guessing Mrs Lain was telling you off?" josh asks. I nodded. "I heard her from the other side of the hall"

they both stayed with me in the bathroom. I told them they could go but they refused and insisted to stay and keep me company. I got to know josh a bit more. he was a nice guy. then the bell rang for period 2. "we should go" I say quietly. so we did.

I got pushed on the way and fell into josh. "I'm sorry!" I exclaim awkwardly.
"it's okay" he assures me kindly.
we made it to period 2, history. josh and brendon were in my class to.

tyler asked if I was okay and as usual I replied with a yes. only brendon knew the full thing.

during free period I sat on my own and read a book. till it got slapped out my hand and tossed across the floor.
"you bitch!" kayleigh spat.
"hello" I say.
"don't you 'hello' me! I lost my boyfriend because of you!"
"I'm sorry?" I say. she kicked my sides. I hissed in pain. "I swear to god I will fucking give you what you deserve!"

"what do you plan on doing?" I ask.
"killing you" she hissed.
"good luck" I smile a bit.
"I'll need it" she growled. she stomped off. i sighed and went to get my book.
"hi" I look up to see brendon.
"hello" I say, as he picked my book up for me. we say in front of my locker together. "so... what did happen?"

"I'd love that" I smiled gleefully.
