Chapter 45

  The veins of the ropes that ate into her bound wrists above her head were the least of her problems,and the fact that she was in an unknown location that bore an aura of terror didn't bother her as much as the females did.The females that formed a circle around her like a pack of hungry hyenas were what really made her body shiver in fear.
  Nina looked around,taking in every detail of her environment,searching subtly for an escape route.The dingy smell of a basement hit her nostrils as she inhaled. The panelled walls were made of redwood, and so were the floors.The room was dimly lit,the only source of light being a flickering lightbulb at the far end of the room,illuminating minutely the silhouettes of the females.There were four of them.

Nina could see two resting on the walls beside her and two facing her.They all had bangs.
Nina hated bangs.

"Who are you?" she shrieked. "What do you want from me?!"

"Oh,don't start," a voice responded drily."Just stay silent.Take comfort in the fact that you're not dead at least...yet."

"Why am I here?Who sent you!"

"How dumb is this chic?" another voice asked in irritation.

"Dumb enough to still be talking,I presume.Do you really think,Nina,that you're in the position to ask us questions?Or that we'll answer any of them?Even one?"the first voice snickered.

"How do you know my name?" Nina cried out."What am I doing here!"

That was when she heard a loud snap and one of the girls approaching towards her.Her heart quickened and she gasped.The girl was adorned in black ripped jeans and a tank top that barely covered her breasts.
There was one word scrawled in red across her white shirt that matched the expression on her face.
Wrath.

She had a whip in her hand and raised it to Nina's face.
"See this?" her baritone voice made Nina shudder."I will scar your face with this if I hear one more word from you.Got it,bitch?"

Nina pursed her lips at once and nodded her head slowly, hot tears forming in her eyes.

"That's enough,Inanna.Don't scare our little pet."

The voice came from the top of the stairs and flowed silkily down to the girls.They all stood ramrod straight at once and lined up at the base of the stairs.

"Good evening,Lady Fantasia," they said in sync,their voice ranging from tenor to bass but somehow all bearing the same tone of respect.

Nina could hear the so-called Lady Fantasia move down the stairs so slowly that she was sure her heart beat a hundred times before the woman took each step.
When,at last,the woman reached the landing,Nina frowned deeply.
The woman looked familiar.
Very familiar.

The woman smiled as Nina watched her.She walked up to Nina,the four girls trailing behind her.

"Nina," she breathed in awe."How wonderful it is to finally meet you."She clasped her hands and brought them below her chin,giggling excitedly,as though she'd just come across a guest she'd been expecting for ages.

Nina shook her head slowly."No.."she said in disbelief,her eyes widening in fear as the woman's heavily made up face cane into full view."You..."

"Aww.You remember me now?Look at that,girls, she finally recognizes me.How smart,right?" she gestured to the girls with open hands and laughed loudly.The girls responded with forced laughter.
It was obvious they were eager to please Lady Fantasia and be in her good graces.

"The bar," Nina croaked,trying to pull down the ropes as she struggled to stand upright.Her shoulders and back were beginning to throb in pain and she wasn't sure if she could take it for much longer."You're the woman I met in the bathroom."
