CHAPTER 58

Two weeks later.

"That's the last of it?"Bella called out to Marabella.

"Sí!" Marabella answered loudly from upstairs.

Bella chuckled, then laughed aloud,as she zipped up the last of the luggage piled at her sneakered feet.

Marabella bounded down the stairs two at a time,her hair bouncing and catching the light.

She stopped at the end of the staircase and smiled guiltily at her sister.
"I'm sorry,Bee.I forgot the leg warmers!Can we add them please please please? Gracias!"

Bella shook her head at her twin.
"Alright,Bel,but remember we're going to France.You're going to have to remember your French,muy belle."

They giggled.

"Oh they look so beautiful, Emiko," Nina said sadly."I feel like crying a river.I've ne'er seen Bella so happy."She sniffled and snuggled closer to his chest.

Emiko chuckled."Come on,Nini.You're supposed to be rejoicing with your friend.Not only has she found her family again,but she's also going back to her home.Cheer up."

"I know...I just...I'm going to miss her so much.We've been together all my life and now she's.." Nina sobbed."Now,she's leaving."

Emiko sighed and patted her back gently.
Nina ,Nina, Nina... You'll have to grow up sooner or later.
Luckily,I'm here to help with that.

"Nina?"

Nina sniffled and looked up.Then she turned back to face the voice.

Bella smiled sweetly at her.
"Oh,come now,mi amor,I told you I'd be back soon. It's only six months,babe.Come here."

Nina moved into the hug and buried her face in Bella's chest.

They stayed like that for a while,with Mara and Emiko grinning at them,and Bella rocking Nina sideways.

"You'll be fine," she said."Emiko'll make sure of it.He knows I'll break both his kneecaps if he hurts you."

"Of course."Emiko laughed and winked at her.

"Oh,don't you give me no eye kisses,Emiko.Don't think I dunno about the burn y'all caused on my Nina's skin,"Bella said,frowning at him."The only reason you still have your head is because Nini here convinced me against chopping it off in your sleep--being that y'all will be married in what,three months?"

Nina laughed then and released Bella."We just got engaged Bella,we won't be married any time soon. "

"What?" Emiko said.

She turned to him."Well,yeah.First you've gotta meet my family and that's just half the nightmare you're gonna face."

Bella chuckled. "Wait till you meet the delightful Grandmother Margaret."

"Then there's the wedding planning and the guest list and the venue," Nina continued, "all of which Bella and Peyton have to be actively involved in."

"So you'll have to wait at least six months," Bella told him with a smirk.

"There's also,"Nina went on,"the wedding in Nigeria--which we must, by all means,attend--where you'll meet my boisterous Aunt Florence and her two headachy children,Wale and Tima."
