We did it, Lars grinned from ear to ear. Standing in a stolen Homeworld ship, he wasn't afraid of this strange world anymore. Maybe he was still a little weirded out by the fact that Fluorite could actually fit in their ship but truly these strange gems were like a family to him.

"Oh my!" Padparadscha exclaimed, "I've had a marvelous vision! We're going to escape Homeworld and begin our journey to Earth to live free!"

"That we are," Lars grinned. The gems around him cheered. They had barely survived the journey. Lars hadn't really, now that he thought about it, but it didn't matter. He could already see Earth in the distance. He could see Steven and the others waiting for them. He could see...

"Lars! Help me!"

Lars squeezed his eyes shut. He had changed since that moment but he still felt that sting of guilt.

"Hey," Rhodonite placed a hand on Lars's shoulder, "Are you nervous about going to Earth?" She chuckled, "I know I am."

"No, I'm not nervous," Lars shook his head.

"Good," Rutile spoke, "Because we are here." The other half of Rutile nodded, "Yes we are approaching. You should prepare to land."

The others nodded and found their seats on the ship. Strapping themselves down (seat belts are important kids) they held onto their armrests. Rutile hastily, and quite effectively, crashed into the sandy ground of-

"Beach City," Lars mumbled. He threw off his seatbelt and quickly opened the ship door. Even though he wouldn't admit it, he felt himself tear up.

Not much had changed. It had only been a few weeks after all. The sky was still just as dark and the water just as blue as when he left.

The gems stood at the entrance of the door unsurely.

"Is it safe?" Rhodonite asked, peeking around.

At that moment Steven or one of the others must've noticed the giant ship in their yard because the Crystal Gems came running down to the beach, with their weapons drawn.

"Lars!" Steven's eyes widened when he saw the familiar figure. The gems shared a look before joining Steven by the ship.

"But how did you escape?" Pearl stared at Lars like he had grown another head.

"Well it's not like I did it alone," Lars rubbed his neck sheepishly. Garnet had already fixed her gaze there when Amethyst and Pearl's eyes flickered to the entrance of the ship where the Off Colors were hiding. Well, most of them were hiding.

"It would seem we are almost at Earth!" Padparadscha walked out of the ship on the sand.

"Padparadscha wait!" Rhodonite exclaimed alarmed. She didn't like the way these new gems held their weapons so readily out in the open.

"Woah," Pearl looked at the gems in the ship with the same sense of weariness.

"Gems put your weapons away," Garnet vanished her gauntlets and looked at the new gems with a smile, "Lars, maybe you should introduce your friends."
