Ch16: I Like You

The following day at i2C Designs office, Alex met Josh, and together with Anton, they started doing the drafts and proposal for the café renovation project. Minutes have gone to hours, hours have gone to days and days have gone to weeks because of left and right work commitments. Both the proposal and drafts were then approved and the renovation finally kicked off ~~ with times that three of them needs to go to the site to oversee the progress. Along with it, Alex and Josh are getting closer, and the latter is starting to find some kind of connection with her.

Josh: Hey Alex, Anton... Do you want to have dinner after we finish this?
Anton: Sure!
Josh: Alex?

Alex: Huh?

Josh: Dinner after this?

Alex: Yeah sure~~

After dinner, hindi namalayan ng tatlo na napasarap sila ng kwentuhan, at mga 11 na when they decided to call it a night.

Anton: *to Alex* Taxi ka teh?

Alex: Yep. Nagbubook lang ako ng Uber

Josh: Nope, I can drive you home

Alex: Ayy, okay lang. Kaya ko na. Maaga pa tayo bukas kaya derecho ka na uwi

Josh: Hindi pwede. It's already late. And besides it's my fault bakit tayo ginabi

Anton: Pumayag ka na! Ikaw pang choosy! Hindi kita mahahatid. O pano, Josh kaw nalang bahala sa best friend ko ha!

Josh: Yep, ingat sa pagdadrive! See you tomorrow.

Meanwhile at Rob and Alex' house~~~

Rob: *turned off his laptop, checked the clock and talked to self*
Asan na ba yun? Mag-alas dose na... Hmmmm.. Tetext ko ba? E kung si tawagan at tanungin ko kay Anton?
Baka asa meeting lang. Eeeee bakit ba'ko concerned?~~
Housemate ko kasi siya. If may masamang mangyari sa kanya, kargo ko siya kay Nanay Sylvia...
*tingin ulet sa relo*

Dahil hindi mapakali, nagpalit si Rob ng damit at naisip na abangan sa kanto ng subdivision si Alex since wala nang tricycle ng ganung oras.

Inside Josh's car, close to Alex area~~

Alex: Josh, dun mo nalang ako ibaba sa may kanto.

Josh: Huh? Gabi na, I'll drop you at your doorstep...

Alex: Hindi. Sa may convenient store nalang. May kelangan kasi ko bilhin e.

Josh: I'll park at the store then bilhin mo ung need mo bilhin then I'll still drop you home.

Alex: Naku, inde na. Okay na'ko dito. Gabi na kasi... Baka magising si Lolo

Josh: You live with your grandpa?

Alex: Ha? Ahhh, oo. Mababaw kasi matulog yun. Ayoko magising sya lalo na pag nakita nyang late na'ko nakauwi

Josh: Okay, if that's what you want--

Alex: Thanks for dropping me. Ingat pauwi.

Josh: Thanks! Have a good night! See you tomorrow!

Alex: Yep, see you!

Tinanaw nya si Josh hanggang sa makalayo at pumasok saglit sa tindahan.

Cashier: Wala ka naman Lolo ah!

Alex: Shhhh... Secret lang!

Cashier: Me bibilhin ka ba?

Alex: Etong ginger beer lang

Palakad pauwi, umiinom si Alex ng ginger beer habang malalim ang iniisip. Nagulat sya nang makasalubong nya si Rob.

Alex: Uyyy!

Rob: Date?

Alex: Ha?

Rob: Galing kang date? Ginabi ka ah

Alex: Sorry, di na'ko nakapagpaalam. Nag-aya kasi ng dinner si Josh.

Rob: Kayong dalawa lang?

Alex: Hindi, kasama si Anton. E ikaw, anung ginagawa mo, san ka pupunta?

Rob: Ha? Me bibilhin sana ko pero wag nalang--

Alex: Eto gusto mo? *sabay kuha sa isa pang ginger beer sa plastic bag*

Pagdating sa bahay, tinuloy nila ang kwentuhan at tumambay muna sa porch.

Rob: O pano, tulog na'ko. I have an early client meeting tomorrow. Kaw ren pahinga ka na.

Alex: Okay. Goodnight.

Rob: Night.

Habang asa shower~~

Alex: *to self habang inaalala ung convo nila ni Rob sa daan* Hinihintay nya ba'ko makauwi? *kilig-smile*

The next day, Alex is swamped with work because of a few revisions sa final designs ng QueSci project. Josh volunteered to stay too and accompany her. Rob overheard their conversation and decided to also stay and simply checks on Alex and Josh. He even offered to order dinner for the three of them. :)

Since Josh can't drive Alex home, Rob suggested she ride with him in his car. Dahil pagod naren, she agreed; so Rob called Mang Nestor to pick them up. They didn't talk much inside the car and Alex is slowly falling asleep. Napansin ni Rob yun kaya kinuha nya ang ulo ni Alex and ni-offer ang balikat para sandalan. (*'∀｀*)

Friday, Alex, Josh and Anton went to the café site to check on the ongoing reconstruction. Dahil sa magkakasunod na araw na puyat at pagod, Alex fell asleep on one of the comfy chair. Napansin siya ni Josh at parang tumigil ang oras para sa kanya. Nilapitan nya si Alex hanggang sa halos gadangkal nalang ang pagitan sa mukha ng dalawa. He then whispered, "I like you Alex." Then suddenly she opened her eyes with a surprised look.
