Ch21: I'm Confused

Hinatid ni Ate Sally at Nanay sina Rob and Alex sa bus terminal. Ni-remind na mag-ingat at wag kakalimutan na magtext pagkauwi. Inside the bus, Rob insisted on getting the window seat. Alex is too tired to argue, so she obliged.

Sa sobrang pagod nilang dalawa, they didn't noticed that they started falling asleep on each other -- Alex's head on Rob's shoulder & his head on hers. Nagising si Alex nang sumigaw ang kundoktor na Balintawak na raw. Naalimpungatan si Rob nang alisin ni Alex ang ulo sa pagkakasandal. Then he called Mang Nestor to let him know na malapit na silang Cubao terminal. They got home around 6pm, and just ordered and shared pizza over dinner. Then went straight to bed because of fatigue.

The following day, when Rob was about to take a shower, he noticed that the floors weren't wet -- isa lang ibig sabihin -- Alex hasn't gone to the shower yet. So he took a shower first and dressed up, then went knocked on her door.

Rob: Alex.. Alex.. Lex.. Hey... Are you inside? Are you not going to work? Hey, hindi ka ba papasok? I'm going now.

Alex: Hmghmndmn *sabay inat at tingin sa phone*
WHAT?!?!? Shit! Shit! Shit! *saka nagmadaling maligo*

Around 10:30 na siya nakarating ng office~~

Alex: Oooh, shit! Grrrrr...

Anton: Uy, anyare sayo?

Alex: Na-late akong nagising. Tapos natrapik ako.

Anton: Kwento ka na...

Alex: Pwede bang mag-login muna?!

...

Josh: Hey Alex!

Alex: Ahhh, hey Josh!

Josh: Musta sa province? Did you have fun?

Alex: Ahhh, oo~ How did you know though?

Josh: Ah Marcus told everyone. Rob was also absent yesterday, important engagement naman daw--

Alex: Ahhh, ganun ba--

...

Sabay labas si Rob ng office nya~~

Rob: Hey Anton, Alex and Josh, can you come to my office?

...

Rob: So how was yesterday's presentation?

Anton: Actually they liked it. His sister *pointing to Josh* and her business partner were so happy with the outcome and they can't wait for the shop re-opening in few weeks time.

Josh: Yeah, my sister was so pleased. They never expected we would be able to pull that project off ahead of schedule.

Alex: Sorry, I'm not in yesterday~~

Rob: Yeah, Marcus told me.

Sa loob-loob ni Alex, grabe sa acting ang boss. Bilib na bilib siya na parang wala lang nangyari nung weekend. Sinisipat-sipat lang ni Anton ang bestfriend.

At lunch time, Anton asked Josh if pwede bang hiramin na nya muna si Alex to accompany him sa Serendra to buy something. (Pero para lang talaga magpakwento) :)

Sinabi lahat ni Alex ang mga nangyari which led one to another. Di mapigilan ni Anton na kiligin.

Anton: Friend, I'm so kinikilig. Hindi ko alam kung bakit.

Alex: Ano ka ba.. There's nothing between us. Imposible yun kasi work lang mahal nun. Saka may nabanggit sya na wala syang right maging masaya. Tinanong ko anung ibig sabihin nun, but he never replied.

Anton: E ikaw, anong nafifeel mo towards Rob?

Alex: Wala. Housemate? Kasi housemates naman talaga kami, right?!

Anton: Naiisip ko lang yung what-if! E, how about Josh?

Alex: I'm confused whether to give him a chance or not. To give it a go or no.

Anton: What's stopping you?

Alex: Yung feeling na hindi ako 100%, lam mo yun. I don't know. I don't know how to explain it. Like part of me wanted to give it a try and don't want to turn him down. Like, I don't want to miss the chance. But part of me is telling me, maybe I'm not fully complete because of what AJ had put me through. Hindi ko alam. Nalilito ako--

Anton: Girl, don't fall in love for the sake of being in love. They are of different things. But don't limit yourself with your buts and what-ifs. Life is meant to make mistakes, to get up and try again. Hindi naman pag tinry mo once, dapat perfect score na diba?! Hindi naman to marriage, it's just boyfriend-girlfriend. Meaning, you are going to try things if it would work or not. Then during the process of being together, dun nyo marerealize if it's worth a try and moving forward or if you need to stop.

Alex: May point ka~~

Anton: Look, we're not getting any younger. Your 8-year relationship with AJ became so dragging na you just shut the world out. Akala ko ba nakamove-on ka na?

Alex: Oo, move on na move on na!

Anton: I guess, ang nafifeel mo is takot. Baka iniisip mo, if you go with this relationship, magtatagal ba'to or hindi. Yung takot na ma-left behind, baka yun ang naghohold back sayo.

Alex: Yeah, that one too--

Anton: Remember friend, you'll never know if you don't try. E ano naman kung madapa ka ulet? That's part of growing up.

The rest of the week, Josh is still consistent pursuing Alex. He's always making her smile and making her feel special -- brings flowers, goes for lunch outs, dinner, and hatid up to the convenient store. And Alex would always take the long route going home, dun sa mga alleyways na alam nyang hindi makakasunod ang kotse ni Josh. She couldn't risk him knowing where she lives especially the fact that she's living with their boss.

Rob eventually got used to no one to share dinner anymore or kwento sa porch with ginger beer bago matulog. Hindi na ren sya madalas tumambay sa may sala, kaya sa kwarto nalang niya tinutuloy ang mga naiwang work at pagsagot sa client emails. Usually, late na nakakauwi si Alex and maririnig nalang nya ang pagbukas ng pinto. Kapag alam nyang safe nang nakauwi ang housemate, saka lang nya ititigil ang anumang ginagawa at matutulog.
