Luck was not on Alex's side. After recently losing her Dad and her job, on Valentine's day when she tried to surprise her boyfriend, AJ, she was the one surprised finding him sleeping with another woman.

Saturday, Alex left to meet Josh at the corner store. Josh was planning to bring her for movie and dinner, and probably a few drinks afterwards. Since there was still 20 minutes before 3pm, pumasok muna si Alex sa loob ng tindahan to browse through some magazines and comic books and makipagkwentuhan kay Neale, the store cashier.
Suddenly, there was a woman in her 50s who came out of a black BMW car and went inside the store. She grabbed some chips, drinks and cheesecake from the shelves and noticed Alex next to the cashier reading. "Alex? Is that you?" she asked. Alex looked and much to her surprise, all she was able to say was "Hello po~~"
Rob's mom just kept talking while holding onto Alex's arm. She dragged her all the way to the house without knowing that Alex also lives there and before Alex could even decline. The same time na sumakay sila ng kotse, Josh just pulled over and saw what has just happened. He followed the car behind and parked his car far enough so no one can see him and near enough to see what might be going on at the front gate. Ganun nalang ang gulat nya nang makita nya si Rob na lumabas from the main door at binuksan ang gate for his mom and her driver. Nakita rin nya ang gulat sa mata ng boss nang makita si Alex. Kung bakit, hindi nya alam. Rob let them all in, kissed and hugged his mom. Rob just put his hand on Alex's lower back and ushered them inside the house. Nang mangyari yun, sobrang kulo ng dugo nya. Gustong-gusto na nya lumabas ng kotse at saktan si Rob. Anong nangyayari? Magkahalong confusion at galit ang nararamdaman nya ng mga moment na yun pero pinigilan nya ang sarili at nagdecide na may tamang oras para sa explanation.
Rob: Mom! You should at least tell me that you're dropping by!
Mom: Why do I even need to let you know if I am visiting you? I'm your mother, I can visit my son anytime I want~~
Rob: Hindi sa ganun. Pano if wala ako dito? What if I'm at work?
Mom: Hay naku Rob, anak. You're making a fuss out of nothing~~
Rob: And why did you bring Alex with you? San kayo nagkita?
Mom: Ah, I saw her at the corner store. She's also going to visit you so I just bring her along para hindi na siya maglakad.
Rob: *napakamot ng ulo and looked at Alex*
Alex: *shrugs shoulder and gave a wryly smile*
They had tea and talked about family stuff. Rob's mom telling them that their flight has been rescheduled the next day because Rob's dad has last minute business meetings and how she was excited to go back to the US to see her grandchild. She was just full of stories about Rob and Nathan's childhood, so as about Sophie and Alex totally forgot that she's meeting up with Josh for a date. She saw that he's been calling and texting her heaps. It just slipped her mind. Josh received a text message around 3 hours after~~

Around 6, Rob's mom decided that she'll go ahead as she still needs to do some packing for their flight tomorrow. Alex urged her to stay for dinner but his mom thought that she had already taken so much of the couple's time. They sent her off at the gate and both went inside. Minutes later, someone knocked at the door. Thought it was his mom, Rob opened the door to see Josh standing in front of him. He thought Josh was going to punch him but they just stood at the doorway staring at each other. Even if caught off guard, he invited him to come inside as Alex was currently in the washroom. He knocked and told Alex that Josh was there he'll just head out for a while. Josh walked around the house and saw an ongoing monopoly game at one side, cups on the kitchen table, sticky notes on the fridge door, empty ginger beer cans at the porch, stacks of word puzzle magazines, and wireless Xbox controllers on the side table.
Inside the house, Alex explained everything to Josh, well except the fake BF-GF relationship thing. Josh then now recalls the times he saw both of them in the same elevator going to work or even the weekend when she went to the office with her home clothes to hand Rob the usb for a client presentation. He can't help but feel jealous how his own girlfriend is very much at home with Rob instead of him.
Josh: Why don't you move in with me?
Alex: Huh?
Josh: Move in my apartment in Shaw. We can go to work together and it's much closer to work
Alex: ...
Josh: I understand you've been living here for as long as you can imagine. But, look~~
Alex: I'll think about it, Josh
Josh then decided that it's better to meet tomorrow for lunch to make up for today. He eventually told Alex that he should go and he'll just pick her up the next day. Alex walked him back to his car parked about ten meters away from the house.
Josh: Alex, just give it a thought.
Alex: Yep, I will~
Josh: Ok, see you tomorrow. I'll come pick you up, this time not at the corner store but from your front door.
Alex: *posed a fake smile*
Alex went back in the house and felt dreaded. She took a can of ginger beer and sat at the porch. A few minutes later, Rob got home, saw her and sat at the other end, sometimes glancing at her. Both of them just sat still and speechless of what a stressful day it has been.
