Ch34: And It Gets More Complicated

Alex was right back on her feet after almost a week of being sick. Sinamahan nya si Anton to visit the progress in the Kapitolyo Townhouse project, and nag-attend din ng mga meetings with prospective clients. They even got the big hotel chain contract that Rob and Marcus has been working on the last month. Kaya busy ang lahat preparing paperworks, drafts, presentations, SolidWorks design, you name it.

One work day, Friday specifically, while everyone were busy, Rob's mom visited the office with his niece, Sophie. Nakita sila ni Anton on their way in, nigreet niya ang mag-Lola and offered coffee and juice to the little girl, so off he went to the pantry.

Sakto, lumabas si Alex from Rob's office. When Alex saw his mom, she said hi to her and even hugged each other, she also said hi to the young girl.

Josh, who was at his desk, was confused who the lady was and how was she related to Alex. He thinks he's already seen her somewhere, but he can't recall.

Alex knocked at Rob's door, opened it and told him that he's got visitors.

Rob went out and saw Sophie and threw her a big hug. He also kissed and hugged his mom. When out of nowhere, his mom told Sophie, "That's Uncle Rob's girlfriend, Auntie Alex." Sophie smiled and gave Alex a hug too.

Rob, Alex, Anton, Marcus and the rest of the guys in the office were all surprised, especially Josh. WHAT IS GOING ON?!

Alex looked at Josh and rushly looked away. Good thing, Anton was there to the rescue~~

Anton: *to everyone* Hey guys, Rob's mom brought lunch. C'mon, let's dig in! They're all ready in the meeting room.

Alex: *mouthed to Anton* Thank you!

Before joining the others for lunch, she rummaged through the things on her desk and grabbed the Totoro coin purse that's been sitting in her drawer unopened, and gave it to Sophie. The kid's eyes lit up, and though she can't speak, you can clearly see that she's happy. While eating, Alex was avoiding eye contact with both Josh and Rob. Sophie sat next to her. For some reason, the kid just felt comfortable with her, and stayed at her side the whole time.

Bago umalis, Rob's mom hugged Alex and Rob and reminded them to bring Sophie somewhere nice one weekend. The kid gave Alex the tightest hug, tighter than her Uncle.

Nang makaalis na ang mga bisita, wala nang patumpik-tumpik pa, sumugod si Josh agad sa opisina ni Rob and almost jumped and punch him, good thing Alex has good reflexes and she was able to stop her boyfriend attacking their boss.

Niyaya ni Alex si Josh na magpakalma sa rooftop at saka inexplain ang lahat sa kanya. Josh can't help but felt crappy and just broke down and cried.

Josh: Housemates -- I struggled dealing with that but I am STILL trying. But this one? Isn't too much putting up a fake relationship in front of everyone?

Alex: I dunno what to say. I am so sorry. Really~~

Josh: And for what? For a stupid three million pesos?

Alex: First, don't say it's stupid. Our family home is at stake. Second, I will pay him back when my sister gets her alimony~~

Josh: And when is that exactly?

Alex: Hindi ko alam, sorry--

Josh: This is sooooo frustrating. Dropping you at home everyday and seeing you walk through the door unaware of what is going to happen inside when you and Rob are together-- This just breaks me

Alex: NOTHING is happening between us! Just housemates.

Josh: Yeah, HOUSEMATE that you get to share a cup of tea, you get to play Xbox with, you get to talk to about anything~~

Alex: Then what do you want me to do?

Josh: You know the answer to that question~~

Alex: ...

Josh: Move out and live with me! Plain and simple!

Alex: ...

Josh: I've been telling you this a dozen times--

Alex: Ok, fine. If that will make you happy. If that will make you feel relieved, then I will move in~~

Josh: Good. I'll come pick you up Sunday after lunch. I guess that's more than enough to pack everything, right?
