Chapter 42

~Devon

So after what happened the other night I wanna sit down with my dad and ask him why it happened. I had no idea that YahYah's parents new my dad, but I need to figure out what the problem is.

Me: "Hey pops can I talk to you for a minute?"

Nick: "Yeah wassup?"

Me: "I wanted to talk to you about the issue that happened at Maliyah's house."

Nick: "It's old Dev don't worry about it"

Me: "No, whatever it was must have been huge if her dad threatened to kill you."

Nick: "I don't feel like talkin about it."

I sighed and shook my head.

Me: "Alright. If you don't wanna talk about it, I'll just figure it out on my own." I said getting up

I grabbed my keys off the hook and walked to my car. Once I was in I called YahYah to see if she was home.

*Conversation Starts*

Maliyah: "Hello"

Me: "Hey, are you home?"

Maliyah: "Yeah you wanna come over?"

Me: "Yeah"

Maliyah: "Okay hold on let me go ask."

I heard shuffling in the background, and her running down the stairs. I could hear her ask someone if I could come and they said yes.

Maliyah: "Okay you can come."

Me: "Alright I'm on my way."

*Conversation Ends*

I started my car and drove off.

{25 minutes later}

So Devon just got here and he said he wanted to talk to my parents to get a better understanding of what happened the other night and I kind of wanna know why what happened when it happened, if you get what i'm trying to say.

Tania: "Hi Devon how are you?" She said giving him a hug

Devon: "I'm good and you"

Tania: "I'm good, Maliyah tells me you wanted to talk. What do you wanna talk about?"

Devon: "Well I was just trying to figure out why Mr. Higgins and my dad got in a fight the other night."

Tania: "Oh." She said looking at me "Um you didn't ask your dad?"

Devon: "I did but he won't tell me. So you guys were my only option."

Tania: "Alright well how about you guys go sit in the living room while I go get everybody. This is a discussion I think we all need to have."

I scrunched my eyebrows confused as to why everybody has to hear the conversation too.
