It was a long journey from the edge to berk and let's just say all riders and their dragons were tired. The gang set in the great hall bored.
"Hey, what about a game?" Hiccup said
"Like?" Snotlout asked
"How about "Never have I ever" game?"
Everyone looked at him
"You know it's a drinking game where one of us say 'never have I ever....' and say something he didn't try or done and if one of the other players actually did it he or they have to drink" Hiccup explained
"Sounds fun" said the twins
"Wait, wait, wait, did you forget what happened to you last time Hiccup or shall I remind you?" Astrid glared at Hiccup who held his hands up in defense
"No it won't happen again, it's just a game"
"Fine, but I swear If.."
"Okay okay I got it, can we begin?"

And the game started and went on and on
"All right Legs, your turn."
"Okay, okay.  Never have I ever.."
"And I swear to Odin it better not be another one of those killing things or whatever.  None of us have done any of that"
"All right, I got it!  It just took me a while to get used to the system."  Snotlout nodded and leaned back, satisfied, while Fishlegs thought.
"Okay," Fishlegs said, "never have I ever...stabbed myself with a dagger."
Tuffnut, Astrid, and Hiccup took big gulps of their drinks at that.  When they had placed their tankards back on the table, Astrid looked at Hiccup and asked,
"Accident at the forge?"
"Yep," he said.  "You?"
"Playing with my father's weapons.  All right,"
she directed her gaze back out to the group,
"my turn?  Let's see.  Never have I ever..."  She got an evil grin.  "...had my shield taken out by Gronkle fire."
All around the table there was a chorus of "What?!" "Oh, come on!" and "Cheat!" as everyone else took a gulp of mead.
"Hey, that's the rules of the game," Astrid said, looking perfectly smug.
"Hit as many as hard as you can."  She jerked her head towards Hiccup.  "Go."
"Okay," Hiccup said, rubbing his chin in thought.  "Never have I ever..."

The game continued for several rounds, each Viking getting more inebriated as time went on.
"Never have I ever fallen off the dock."
"Never have I ever gotten run over by a sheep."
"Never have I ever gotten my helmet stuck to my head."
"Never have I ever had a fishing hook stuck in my face."
"Never have I ever believed scary stories."  Followed by: "Oh come on, I was three!"
At some point Hiccup noticed that the drinks were practically spilling off the table, but no one seemed to have any inclination to stop, and he was having fun too much to mention it.  It was Astrid's turn, and she had a look of intense concentration.
"Never have I ever...been bitten by a Terrible Terror."
Tuffnut and Fishlegs drank at that.  Astrid nodded happily, and Hiccup found himself enamored by her smile all over again.  Really, everything about her was gorgeous.  It may have just been the drink, but he realized right then he was probably the luckiest guy in the village to have a friend who was so very beautiful, with such pretty eyes, and such pink lips, and such nice --
Astrid poked him.  Hard.
"Earth to Hiccup. It's your turn. Say something."
"Wha?  Oh, um..."
"SAY SOMETHING."
"I've never told a girl that I love her," Hiccup burst out.  Astrid's eyebrows leaped almost up to her hairline, and the table was enveloped in complete silence.  Until Ruffnut started cackling.
Astrid looked at Hiccup, thankfully looking more amused than annoyed, although again it might have been the drink. Tuffnut, and Snotlout took a drink.
"It does count if she punched you ," Tuffnut protested when snotlout lowered his mud.
"Um, d'oy, I know that, lizard brain."
"Really?" Ruff said,
he snorted.
" Okay, let's keep it going people!  Who's turn is it?"
"It's yours," Hiccup said.
"Oh. Cool. All right, never have I ever kissed Hiccup!" she said loudly.  Hiccup eyes widened as Tuffnut laughed and Snotlout snorted.
"I could say something," snotlout said as Astrid glared daggers at him.  "I'm not, but I could."
"Yes, and we admire your restraint," Ruff said, rolling her eyes.
Astrid took a drink.
Ruff punched Tuff in the arm.
"Go."
"Hmm," he said.  "Never have I ever been first nor second to ride a Night Fury."
"Getting a little specific, are we?" Hiccup asked as he and Astrid made to take another drink.
"Maybe," Tuff said with a smile.
Snotlout was smiling too, and not in a pleasant way.  "Never have I ever been the blacksmith's apprentice."
"What?" Hiccup said as everyone laughed.
"Not cool."  He took a drink.
Fishlegs looked excited.
"Never have I ever been the chief's son."
"Oh come one!" Hiccup cried.
"That's not fair."
"That's the rules, buddy," Snotlout practically gloated.
"Drink!"
Hiccup sighed, and did.  Then he looked at Astrid suspiciously.  She was trying unsuccessfully to hide a smile.
"Astrid..."
"Hmm," she said, tapping her lip in pretend thought.
"What should I say?"
"Astrid, I'm warning you..."
"Never have I ever..."
"This is treason!"
"...placed first in dragon training."
And she gave him a triumphant little smile.
"Treachery!" Hiccup cried as their friends laughed.
"Betrayal!"
He stuck an unsteady finger in Astrid's face.  "Bad second in command!  You're supposed to have my back, you're, you're supposed to -- "
Astrid bit his finger.
Hiccup yelped and fell backwards off the bench as his friends howled in laughter.
Astrid looked absurdly pleased with herself.
"What the..," he gasped.
Astrid chuckled and smoothly reached down to pull him back up by the neck of his shirt.  He glared at her.
"Bad best friend,"
he said again, but kept his fingers to himself.
"Drink!" Tuff cried.
"Drink, drink, drink, drink..."
The other quickly joined in the chant, pounding on the table in time to their voices.  Hiccup rubbed his hand across his forehead, sighed, and chugged the last bit of drink in his mug.  His friends cheered.
"Laugh as you want, and you," he pointed at Astrid "I'm mad at you"
"No you're not"

"Yes I am"

"No you're not"

"Yes I am"

"No you're not"

"Yes I am"

"No you're not"

"Yes I am"

"Yes you are"

"No I'm not" Hiccup eyes widened when he realised what she did
"She did trick you" snotlout said and they all burst out laughing accept for Hiccup who turned his back to them in annoyed.
"I think he is angry"
"No he is fine" Astrid said "aren't you Hiccup"
He ignored her
"Yes he is angry"
"Yes I am and nothing you can do will change that"
They all looked at each other, no longer funny, then they looked at Astrid
"What?"
"Do something"
"Why me?"
"It's your fault, plus you're his best friend"
"It's our fault and..." they all glared at her
"Fine I'll try"
She went close to Hiccup and sat in front of him
"Hey"
No response
"You can't ignore me forever"
Nothing
"Aren't you forgiving your best friend?"
He shook his head
"Okay then, you left me no. Choice"
Astrid grabbed his face in her hands and Hiccup looked at her with confusion that soon turned to shock when she placed her soft lips on his in a sweet little kiss.
Everyone else on the table was having his own reaction.
The twins cheering, Fishlegs grinning, snotlout groaning.
When she pulled away Hiccup face was still paralyzed until she spoke softly
"What about now"
"I would never stay mad at you"
Then she went away clapping her hands
"Problem solved, told you I have my ways in working things out"
"So if I got mad you'll..." snotlout was cut off
"Punch you hard" Astrid replied
"But Hiccup..."
"End of discussion"
"Okay, that was fun, and now we have to go get some rest." Hiccup announced
"Bye then!" Said the twins
"Goodnight" Fishlegs waved while leaving
"Whatever, bye" that was snotlout
They all left leaving Hiccup and Astrid
"So you coming?" She said
"What if I say I'm still angry?"
"Then I'm gonna punch the life out of you"
"Okay, Okay, just kidding, no need for violence"
"It's not violence, it's a way for communication"
"Keep telling yourself that" Hiccup mumbled to himself
"What did you say?"
"Nothing, Nothing, come on" He grabbed her hand and dragged her outside and started walking home not noticing their hands.
They talked about different stuff until they reached the Hofferson's house. Only then did Astrid noticed.
"Um...Hiccup?"
"Yes?"
She pointed at their hands. Hiccup let her go scratching the back of his neck, face went red.
Astrid giggled at how cute he looked.
"So...Um...were we.... holding hands.....uh..all the way back?" He shuttered
"I....I guess so" she said
"Sorry I didn't notice"
"It's okay I don't mind"
They stood in a total awkward silence,
"So see you tomorrow?"
"Aren't you always?"
Astrid then gave him a quick peck on the cheek and run inside waving Goodbye to him.
Toothless who was there and saw what happened came along giving his rider a dragon grin.

"Shut it you, don't even start"
