Melinda's POV

It's been a few days sinse I was at my house. I had to leave behind memories, really good memories. Every moment that I spent with Tyler, left behind. I miss him so much. I only hope that he made it to daddy's alright.

With all of these dumb ass 'people' walking in the streets, I had to find different routes. It only made me waste time. I hated it. Turns out Tyler was right, they are very dangerous. I don't know how many I've killed, there was to many to count. My first kill, it was heart breaking, I thought to myself this person had a life before all of this, and now, nothing. It's a shame. They might just be sick, we just have to find a cure.

I was knocked out of my thoughts, literally, by one of the beings. I don't know how stupid I've gotten, but this proves it.

I pushed it back some and then noticed all of the others behind it. It was like the whole damn city knew I was here.

"Shit!" I yelled, and started to run down the street with them following me. I could hear all of the moans getting closer and it only pushed me more.

I ducked into a side ally and saw a ladder. I grabbed onto the cold metal and pulled myself up. I was only a few feet up when I felt a tug on my foot. I gasp in alarm, looking down to see that they followed me. A few more grabbed at my other foot and I couldn't shake them loose. I only had one option, and it was noisy.

I grabbed my gun out of my thigh strap and aimed. I pulled the trigger. Boom! One down. Boom! Two down. Boom! Boom! Three, four. I finally got my feet free, putting my pistol back in it's place I skipped up the rest of the ladder.

Once on the roof, I was breathing heavy and adrenalin was pumping through my body. I looked over the edge at all the 'dead' bodies reaching for me.

"Try and eat me now bitches!" I scream down the ladder. I laugh to myself at how stupid I look. Talking to myself, people would think I'm crazy.

"No no no, god no! please!" I heard someone yell at the other side of the roof. I raised my crossbow and walked closer to the screaming man.

"Damn walkers can't take me like this!" he screamed. I didn't know what a 'walker' was, but I have a feeling it was the sick he was talking about.

As I got closer I saw the 'walkers' banging on the door. And a man handcuffed to a small pole. But what he was doing made me want to throw up. He was cutting off his own hand.

I started to run up to him, dropping my bow on the ground and digging in my pocket.

"No! no, stop! I have a key!" I screamed. He looked at me and started to cut faster.

What's wrong with him? I just told him I have a key.

"No stay away! I don't need help!" he screamed. I bent down next to him and started to take the saw thing away, but he just pushed me back.

"I said I don't need help, ye dumb bitch!" he looked at me, and you could see the coldness and anger in his eyes. But I wasn't going to give up.

"They can't get through the door! Just please stop!" I begged. I got up on my knees and gently grabbed his arm. He didn't take to kindly to my actions because next thing I knew I was on the ground with the corner of my mouth bleeding.

"Son of a bitch! You hit me!" I screamed, whipping some of the blood off of my lip. I got back up but he hit me in the side. I groaned in pain, it just had to be the side where I got shot, didn't it?

"If ye were smart ye would stay down!" he said, screaming in pain as he got down to the bone in his wrist. I guess I'm not smart because I stood up and came back to him. He dropped the saw and cranked his arm back, hitting me in the jaw. I fell to the ground and smacked my head on the concrete beneath me. I could taste the blood in my mouth and my head was pounding. The last thing I remembered before I blacked out was the strange man jumping to his feet and running around the corner, into the building.
