Melinda's POV

I wake up to a pounding in my head and a huge weight on my chest. Literally. I try to sit up but get forced back down. I slowly open my eyes and wince at the light I forgot to turn off last night.

I look around me and notice I'm laying on the couch, but when I move the slightest bit I remember that something is on top of me. It's when their grip tightens on me that I realize it's a person.

Everything from last night comes flooding into my mind and I wonder what happened for us to get in this position.

Daryl's head is on my chest and his arms are wrapped around my midsection. As I look further down I notice his legs are tangled in mine like a knot. I'm not any better, my hand that isn't cuffed to him is in his long hair and the other is holding his wrist while he holds his own hands, holding me tight.

I still haven't said anything and it's my hesitation that worries me. I was staring at him again. I guess it's the way he looks so peaceful that I didn't want to bother him. The creases that are always on his forehead are evened out. His breaths are slow and steady rather than fast and rugged. The only other time I saw him almost this peaceful was last night.

I start to shake him a little but he doesn't stir. I expected him to fly up and stab me with his knife. But yet he still stays there.

"Daryl?" I shake him a little more and he grumbles something. I try to pull away but he pulls me the slightest bit closer. I know he's awake! Why the hell won't he get off me?!

"Daryl, this is not okay!" I move my hand to his face and open one of his eyelids. "Hello? Can you hear me?" I know good and well he can!

"Damn, woman just relax an let me sleep!" He grumbles. I lay my head back and groan. I thought he didn't like me! Why the hell can't we go to Rick and get the cuffs taken off?! Then he can go back to sleep!

"We can go and get the cuffs taken off! Then you can sleep all you want! Just get your fat ass off of me!" I start to lightly tap his head in hope of annoying him.

"Mel, if ye don't let me sleep ye will regret it." He says it so low I believe him, it was almost in a threatening way. He turns his face so it's more into me, blocking the light. I sigh when I realize that he was serious.

It's been at least an hour and my headache still hasn't subsided. I ended up braiding many pieces of his hair. I laugh when I picture his face. He's going to be pissed when he finds out he looks like a little girl.

I was in the middle of braiding a smaller piece of hair when Rick came through the door. He had to do a double take. I just shook my head and looked back at my little project.

"What- what are you doing?" He ask and I could tell he was trying not to laugh. This whole situation would probably be funny to him. He just happens to walk in and see two people that hate each other all close. He's probably more shocked about Daryl, I don't think he ever thought he would see him doing something like this.

"I'm getting payback! Don't tell him, I want the group to see!" I chuckle.

"What did he do this time?" He walked closer and sat in the chair beside the couch, a smirk plastered on his face. I took a deep breath.

"Mel, if ye don't let me sleep ye will regret it!" I said with my best impression of Daryl. Rick snickered as I continued. "So now I'm stuck like this!" I motioned to our bodies tangled as one. I started on a new braid as Rick stood back up.

"Hey, Rick?" I called before he left the room. He turned with his eyebrows raised at my sudden outburst, I was sure that would wake Daryl. But like before, he didn't move.
