Melinda's POV

"What the hell happened to your arm?" Mike worries as he runs up to me. I look down at it, forgetting what had happened a couple weeks ago.

"I got bit. Daryl took good care of me." I say looking back up at the said man.

"Well hats off to him for keeping my girl safe." I immediately got an uncomfortable feeling with the wording he chose. "God that looks nasty."

"It was." I mumble, not really interested in the conversation. I was too busy looking at the man I spent weeks with alone. His eyes held sadness as he looked down at me. Then within a blink of the eye, he looked down at his feet, uninterested.

Merle's eyes then met mine, a hard smirk on his face. I scrunch my brows together, wondering if he had any other facial expression other than creep.

"Where's Maggie? Beth? Daddy?" I look around the group, not seeing their faces.

"They took a late watch last night. They're still inside sleeping." Glenn piped up from next to Lori.

"Beth and dad took watch?" My shocked voice fills the open air.

"They've insisted. Maggie was waiting until you came back. She's been really worried." Glenn walks closer to me, concern for her obvious in his eyes.

"You wanna stay out here and say hi to Daryl while I go see aunt Maggie?" I rub my five year olds back as her blue eyes dance. She nods her head frantically.

"Okay. I love you." I kiss her cheek. "Go get him." I tap her leg and she runs over to Daryl.

"Daryl!" She squeals. She runs full force into his legs, wrapping her arms around them in a death grip.

"Well, hey, squirt." He bends down and grabs her under the arms, lifting her into the air. Her hair flys in all directions as she spreads her arms and legs out like an airplane. Daryl then brings her down to his chest and wraps his big arms around her tiny body. Her little arms wrap around his neck.

"I missed you." She smiles. Her quick bond with Daryl still surprises me. As soon as she arrived at the farm she stuck to him like glue. She immediately warmed to his cold nature, and with time he warmed to her as well. And after weeks of being apart, she still acts as if he never left.

"Ye did?" He brushes her crazy hair out of her face. "Well I missed ye too." She pulls closer to him and puts her head on his shoulder, contently sitting against him as he continues his conversation with Rick. He lightly rubs her back as he rocks her back and forth. I shake my head before standing to my feet and walking to Glenn.

"You wanna show me to Maggie." I brush the dirt from my knees as he smiles.

"Sure thing." He walks through the opening of the door, me following shortly behind.

He walks up the stairs to the right of the door. Once at the top, there was a small living place, having two couches against the back walls. Maggie accompanying one of them.

"Thank you Glenn." I place my hand on his shoulder giving it a squeeze. He reaches up, laying his hand over mine.

"Welcome back." He pats my hand before walking back down the stairs.

I lightly walked over to my little sister, careful not to wake the rest of my family in the room. I bent down to where I was at the same level as her. I reach my hand up and shake her softly.

"I swear, Glenn. This is the second time in the last 15 minutes. If you don't leave me alone, you're going to wish you had." Her groggily voice fills the air.
