Omg I'm sorry guys! I haven't updated in like 2 weeks! I feel so bad lol!
Okay, I don't really remember each and every word before they go to the CDC but I'll try my best.
And please remember, this book isn't always going to be with the seasons. I'll add other stuff in there too, to make it more interesting lol! You may read now, my children!
Melinda's POV
I woke up to the smell of smoke in the distance. I looked around not seeing any evidence of a fire near by. I shrugged it off, I doubt anyone was still out there, this close. If they were, they would have heard our gun shots a little while ago.
I rubbed the sleep from my eyes and sat up straighter. My back cracking in protest, but I didn't care. I would have to get used to it I guess.
I made sure I had my bow and knife and climbed down from the tree. I had to go through many branches and got some scrapes on the way. Why did I choose this tree again?
I started to walk in a different way than camp. Why not get some game? I know Daryl is probably out here but I need something to do.
Speaking of Daryl, why the hell is he so rude? I mean it wouldn't hurt to be nice once in a while. Would it? I know the world is a little screwed up at the moment, but a few friends never hurt anyone.
I heard a cracking sound come from my left. I ducked behind a tree and waited for whatever it was to get closer. With every step it took there was a mumble to go with it.
"Damn woman, comin out here alone." He mumbled, I furrowed my eyebrows together. Was this person looking for me? And if they were, how did they know me?
The person huffed and kept walking closer and closer to where I was. I unsnapped my gun from my thigh strap and held it tight in my hand.
"They think I'm their damn errand boy!" He said a little louder. He was really close to my tree now. I took a big breath and jumped out from behind the tree with my gun up.
"Freeze motherfucker!" I said in a loud voice. Okay, that was a little uncalled for, I'll admit.
He raised his crossbow up in alarm and took a step back.
"What the hell, woman!" He said, his tone mimicking mine.
"Daryl? Where you following me?!" I ask, remembering the things I over heard moments ago. He scoffed.
"No, Shane just has his panties in a bunch. He's all worried bout ye." he lowered his bow and shifted from one leg to the other. I put my pistol back in it's place and hitched my bow a little higher on my shoulder.
"Me? What does he want?" I ask. Shane is a really weird person. I mean he had my shirt for crying out loud.
"How am I supposed to know?" He snapped. God, his temper is really bad.
"Well he sent you out here for me! Didn't he?" I snapped back.
"That don't mean I get into his business!" He raised his voice. Why is he yelling?!
"Why the hell are you yelling?! Why can't you have a normal conversation with people?!" I scream. Why am I yelling? Ugh, what the hell Melinda! Get your shit together!
"You know what Mel?! I don't-"
"Mel?" I cut him off. "Why the hell did you call me Mel?! That's not my name!" I snapped, I took a step closer to him. Maybe I can intimidate him, flatten that ego.
"I don't know." He sighed. He ran a hand through his hair and looked anywhere but me. "It suits ye?" He said, but it came out more like a question.
