Melinda's POV
I winced when I opened my eyes. The light was poring in through the window to my right, begging me to get up. I look around the room and notice automatically that it was my old room. Just looking at it makes my heart pound. I finally made it. My family is on the other side of that door!
A huge smile etches on my face as I throw the covers off of me and sit up. I regret it as soon as a dizzy streak hits me. I lean against the head board as I process my thoughts.
How did I get here? Where is the group? Is Carl okay?
I put my head in my hands as I groan at the terrible headache. My head shoots up as I hear a voice outside my door that I had missed so much.
"She went into shock. She's exhausted! What have you done to her?" The man that I know as my father speaks. My smile grows at the realization that he is alright.
"She's a dare devil." The other man chuckles. "Won't really listen to anything anyone says."
"Rick, I thank you for taking care of her, but she needs to rest!" Dad says. I finally couldn't take it anymore as I stand to my shaky feet and stumble to the door. I swing it open to see the two men.
"Thank god!" I cry as I wrap my arms around my father. He tightly squeezes his arms around my waist as I cry into his shoulder. "I missed you so much!" I sniffle as I silently thank god.
"You're okay now." He whispers. I nod and slowly loosen my arms and take a step back. I wipe away the evidence of crying and turn to Rick.
"What happened?" I ask referring to how I got here. He puts his hands on his hips as he takes a breathe.
"I don't know the whole story." He looks between me and my dad and starts again. "Apparently when Glenn told you it was your sister on the horse you passed out. Hershel said it was from shock." I nodded my head telling him to continue. "So you stayed the night in the RV for a night with the rest of the group incase Sofia came back. And then when you got here," he mumbled the rest so I couldn't hear. My eyes brows furrowed in confusion.
"What?" I ask him to repeat what he said and he just mumbles louder. I still couldn't understand what he said. "English, Rick" I sigh, getting irritated that he won't just tell me. I want to see the rest of my family.
"Daryl carried you in." He looked down, knowing good and well that I didn't like it.
"He did what?" I blink, not really sure I heard him right.
"Yeah, he actually looked... Scared." He had to pause to find the right word to describe him. I was just stunned that he carried me in. I would expect him to leave me in the woods and have a stupid remark as he walked away. But he did the opposite.
"Um, okay." I pause and let the thought sink in. "I'm going to see the rest of the family!" My energy level seems to have boosted up as I run down the stairs almost tripping when I reach the bottom. If I know my family I should know that they are in the kitchen. So that's where I run; the kitchen.
As I round the corner I run into someone. Stumbling back some I look up into the eyes of my youngest sisters boyfriend.
"Jimmy!" I smile as I wrap him in a hug. Jimmy's always been a little scared of me, I'm not sure why he just has, so this must be a little weird for him.
"Beth!" He calls, probably scared shitless by my behavior. I hear her small feet pat on the ground as she comes closer. "Get your sister off of me, please!" He practically begs.
