Song of the chapter: Say Something  (I'm giving up on you)- A Great Big World, Christina Aguilera.

[THREE WEEKS AFTER THEIR BREAKUP]

Conor's POV_

No, things didn't end there.

No, our breakup wasn't the last thing that came out of the fight.

No, I didn't give up on her... I didn't give up on us.

That was not the end of our story... this is the end.

"Conor, what the hell is this?!" Jack threw the small red box over my bed as I fixed the tie over my neck, making sure I look as decent as possible for later on today.

"It's a box, you idiot." I laughed, not turning around, but still making sure I see him through the mirror in front of me.

"I meant, what's inside the box, you moron!" He said, rolling his eyes.

"A ring." I told him, finally turning around to face him. "Do I look good?" I asked him, ignoring his angry looks.

"I know it's a ring, but what's it for?!" He asked, not answering my question.

"That's non of your business." I told him.

"How much did that even cost you?!" He examined the ring as he talked.

"Five thousand dollars." I confessed, and I'm pretty sure he choked on thin air.

"Five thousand what now?!" He yelled, his eyes wide with shock.

Yes, I spent five thousand dollars on a ring, and I'm not even sorry.

Because basically, this ring is going to change my life, so I needed to go for the most fancy one out there.

"Mate why are you still here?" I asked, trying to get him to leave me alone somehow.

"Conor, when are you going to fucking realise that if a person wants you in their life, they're going to make an obvious effort to stay?!" He asked, his voice getting louder after each word.

"She does want me in her life, my fans are just annoying her." I said, pointing out what's clearly obvious.

"Fuck's sake." He laughed, shaking his head. "Think whatever you want to think, Conor, but don't come back here crying when she says no, alright?!" He asked, stepping towards the door.

"She's not going to say no!" I told him, angry at how my brother doesn't want to support me through this.

"She's going to say no, Conor, and it's not going to be your fans' fault this time, it's simply because she doesn't fucking love you." He scowled, leaving the room before I had the chance to think of a reply.

"SHE DOES LOVE ME, AND SHE'S NOT GOING TO SAY NO!" I yelled to make sure he hears me.

Back then, I was pretty sure our love can make it through anything and everything, because I just knew she wanted us to get married, and I was fully ready to tie the knot in front of the whole world if she lets me, because I thought she loved me enough to say yes... but how much of a fool I was to think that when you fall in love, you're always going to receive the same love.

I remember her going on and on and on about how our life would be perfect if we spent it together, and how she's going to name our first son Leo because she knew I loved that name when I was younger, and how she's going to brag about me being her husband because I'm the famous Conor Maynard.

And I thought that maybe... just maybe, if I actually made her dream come true, if I made our dream come true, and if I proposed, she's going to forget about the non sense that anyone says about her, and realise that I love her for who she is, no matter how much shit my fans talk about her.
