Song Of The Chapter: Gone Gone Gone- Phillip Phillips
Anastasia's POV_
"Oh my god." I cut Mia off, my eyes fixed on the blonde couple kissing somewhere on the dance floor, practically so focused on making their kiss a hot one, that they didn't even notice their surroundings at all.
Hell, they didn't even care about how awkward it must be for everyone around since they're literally standing in the middle of the crowd, his hands pushing her face to his, while her hands messed up the long tops of his hair like crazy.
"I knew I saw Jack somewhere around here!" Mia seemed proud of her sharp eye-sight, while I was trying to figure out how the hell my best friend, that said she's 'honestly, truly so busy to hang out tonight' is literally right here, in the arms of Jack flippin' Maynard, kissing him like there's no tomorrow.
"Forget about that dupe for a second!" I hit the back of her head. "Isn't that Joyce?!" I asked, trying not to believe my own eyes, even though I can recognise my best friend out of ten thousand other girls.
"No way!" She was finally starting to realise what's going on. "It can't be her! She said she's busy for tonight!" She told me, as if I didn't already know that.
Well, I know Joyce isn't stupid, and if she had the slightest doubt we're coming here, she probably wouldn't have came, seeing she's apparently trying to avoid us.
That's simply because we didn't tell her we're turning up. The only question we asked was if she wanted to join us for a girls' night out.
Well, now we know what's keeping her so busy.
But Jack? Seriously?
I mean, does it necessarily have to be about the Maynards somehow?
She literally warned me about their 'charm', and now she's obviously falling for it, the way they've been holding each other all throughout mine and Mia's conversation indicating that these two might have something to tell us soon.
"We gotta go up to her!" She said, stepping ahead, before my hand caught the back of her dress, pulling her back to place.
"That's not how things work on Anastasia's watch, baby." I said. "Follow me." I commanded, heading back to where Alex said he'd be, finding him and Anth dancing as expected.
"I found Mia!" I smiled, informing Alex, who stopped to watch us as we came closer to them, smiling back to my smile.
"Great!" He cheered.
"Where's Jack though?" I asked, pretending to look around, knowing the exact answer I'm going to receive.
"He's somewhere dancing, I guess." He said, looking around too.
"Oh, okay." I nodded. "Can you bring him back here please? I need to talk to him." I said.
"Yeah sure." He said, not really thinking about what could possibly be happening.
"Hey Alex," I stopped him. "Don't tell him we're here though, okay? I don't want him to think it's anything serious." I said.
"Okay." He answered, leaving me to take a few sips from the bottle I took out of Mia's hand earlier, finally feeling like this is a night I might enjoy, before I saw Alex walking back to us, Jack and Joyce right behind him, their conversation slowly fading out as they saw me and Mia sitting there with Anth, who was really too busy chatting up a chick to even realise any of what's about to go down.
"Anastasia? Mia? What are you guys doing here?" Joyce was turning pale by the second, her hand unleashing Jack's hand right when she saw us, obvious panic on both of their faces as I had a big smile on mine.
