Song Of The Chapter: Fight Song- Rachel Platten

[NEXT MORNING]

Anastasia's POV_

"Pain! All I'm feeling is pain." Mia whined, turning around on my couch, making me laugh at the sight of my friend absolutely hungover after last night, seeing she insisted on finishing two other bottles, and now she's definitely regretting it.

"I'll go get you some pain killers." I rolled my eyes at the dramatic human opposite to me, standing up to walk my way to the kitchen, going through my phone one more time to a find a few missed calls from Joyce, but non from Conor.

You know, trying to ignore someone can be very hard when they're the ones ignoring you.

Couldn't he at least tell me he made it there safely?

I literally hadn't heard his voice ever since he left.

I sighed, locking my phone, my attention turning quickly to the door knock I heard right before I entered the kitchen, stopping in place.

"MIA! CAN YOU GET THAT?!" I shouted for her to move, but of course, I'm the one who's meant to be doing everything around here.

"I'M SLOWLY DYING, BITCH! YOU GET THAT YOURSELF!" She yelled back, getting a quiet cuss under my breath before I quickly paced back to the front door to anwer the several knocks that followed.

My eyes went wide open to the sight of nobody other than Conor's girlfriend right in front of my door steps, as I studied her tall, model-y figure from head to toe, trying not to pull a frown to the view ahead of me, because even though the woman is absolutely stunning, she's definitely on the top of my list...

The list of people I want to punch in the face.

"Hey!" She smiled, waving cheerfully, with me silently watching her as she bashed her shoulder with mine lightly to take a step inside, shocking me with both her presence and her actions.

"What are you doing here?" I skipped the greetings, following her inside as her eyes wandered around the living room, taking a seat next to Mia who was now sitting down on the side of the couch, her eyes on me in absolute surprise.

"You're Conor's friend, aren't you?" She asked. "I've heard a lot about you, so I'm here for a little chat." She grinned, the fake happiness dripping down her features like a snake ready to attack, her hands warming her thighs with the friction they made, her eyes on me.

"So... Conor told you where I live?" I asked, surprised that he might actually do such a thing.

"Of course not, you silly little goose!" She giggled, as if my words entertained her. "I can figure things out all by myself! You know, us girls, we're professional investigators, aren't we?" She winked, while me and Mia literally blinked at each other after the long stare we've been giving Veronica.

All this girlyness is already getting on my nerves, and believe me, I'm not good at hiding my feelings; especially when I'm annoyed, which I am right now.

"Well, finding my house isn't exactly considered investigation, it's actually stalking." I corrected her information.

"Call it whatever you please, but there wasn't any other way that I could possibly talk to you." She said, her hand flicking her hair back as she spoke.

Damn, Conor sure knows how to pick'em.

"What could possibly be so urgent?" I coppied the way she spoke, flicking my hair back to strengthen my sarcasm.

If you hadn't noticed yet, I'm pretty sarcastic when I'm trying to hold back my emotions, so please, ignore my pettiness at the moment.

"We both know why I'm here honey, stop playing dumb." Her tone went deeper, her attitude switching from a sweet princess to a serial killer in no time.
