[NEXT DAY]

Conor's POV_

"I just wanted to know what you think before I go for it, you know?" I walked behind Anastasia, as she took the lead into my bedroom, taking a seat on the edge of my bed, as I read the lyrics out to her, hoping she'd give me a positive opinion since I really needed one.

My friends aren't really helping, and the only person that encouraged me to sign the deal was Anth, but I still need a few more approvals to make sure the song could fit different tastes.

"I'm honestly surprised you're not the one who wrote that." She laughed, getting off the bed to walk my way, standing next to me, before I turned to face her.

"That's literally why I like it so much!" I gushed. "It's like I wrote it, but in reality, I didn't!" I cleared my point, and the reason I made such a choice, but she stayed silent, signalling the fact that I might get disapproval once more.

"Conor," She looked up at me after she's been staring down at my white screen, filled with words covering the entire page. "Can you sing that?" She asked. "I mean, I know these are only the lyrics, but I want to know how it sounds when you sing it." She said, her hands crossed over her chest, as her eyes looked into mine, waiting for an answer.

"I guess so, yeah." I nodded, sitting back down, reading a few lines one more time, before creating my own beat instantly, just so I could sing the lyrics, instead of reading them off the screen.

Of course, this wasn't going to be the way I sing those lyrics for certain, but everybody knows how much of an RnB type of artist I am, and I somehow always go for the slow, soothing way in singing, making it sound more of an acoustic than an original, which is something I enjoy singing more than the upbeat kind.

"Who do you love? Are you sure? Who do you love, and are you sure?" My classic high notes were starting to take over as I spit out the chorus, catching a smile out of her as she fixed her eyes on me, while I moved my hands uncontrollably to the way I've been singing, wondering if she actually likes to hear such a thing, or if she's just playing along to support me.

Now, I think I've done a pretty good job with that part, because I know how strong my vocals can be when it comes to this style of singing, so I hope I left a good first impression, seeing she has never heard me singing in person before.

"This is- oh my god- this is incredible!" She breathed, smiling down at me after the small part I sang. "You have an insane voice, and trust me, nobody can sing those lyrics better than you just did!" I stood up after I heard her enthusiastic comments, smiling to the way she seems overwhelmed with just a part of the actual song.

"You think so?" I asked, my excitement growing inside of me again after Alex and Jack shut me down yesterday.

"I know so!" She held my hands, her smile still covering her lips as she spoke, making me smile to her smile. "If only they weren't aimed at your ex." It was like she remembered the meaning of those lyrics as she moved her hands away from mine, stepping away from me a little.

"They're not!" I denied her thoughts, shaking my head, trying to explain what's my real point.

I mean, This world is far too big and this life is far too short for me to see Veronica as the only thing I aspire to have anymore, and no matter how painful it feels to know that she might be the only woman I'll ever fall in love with, I need to focus on what really matters, which are the people around me, not the people I want to be around.
