John's P.O.V
Everyone is sitting in a circle, me next to Eliza and Lafayette. They refused to let me sit next to Alex because the-
"-bottle never lands on the person next to you!" Eliza whispered in my ear. "It's just how it goes." I roll my eyes as I look at Alexander talking to Peggy, laughing away. I smile. He seems to be fitting in quite nicely for his first day here and I'm glad. I glad he's a good person, I wouldn't want a boring ass roommate.
He throws his head back in laughter at sometime Peggy said and I feel my heart start to thump. I place my hand over my chest, trying to relax it but it's not stopping.
"Maybe if you stop staring at him, it'll slow your heart rate down." Eliza says. I look over to her and she just shrugs her shoulders, a smile on her face.
"I don't like Alexander." I have a hard time trying to say that and Eliza notices as she raises her eyebrow and starts to laugh.
"Shut up gay ass up."
"Okay! I'm starting." Angelica says. She spins the bottle and it lands on Thomas. Some people clap and some people whoop (especially Peggy). She sighs and shrugs.
"You're lucky I liked your essay about common sense!" Angelica says before crawling over to him and planting a kiss on his lips. Everyone cheers as Aaron spins the bottle next.
"I swear if this doesn't land on Theodosia." He says too soon as it lands on Lafayette. Lafayette cheers loudly and Aaron groans.
"Woohoo! I get to kiss the infamous Aaron Burr!"
"Could I spin again?" Before anyone gives him an answer, Laf is already across the circle. He grabs Aaron's face and taps his lips. Everyone either laughs or cheers and I'm doing both. This is hilarious.
"Oh my goodness." Aaron says, wiping his mouth. Lafayette laughs back to his place next to Hercules. Peggy, excited, spins the bottle. It lands on Maria and I instantly see her turn red. I'm gonna have to ask her about that later.
"Okay." She says simply. She and Maria share a long kiss and people cheer while her sisters have 'O' lips.
"My little sister isn't so little anymore huh." Eliza says. I laugh. Soon, it's Alex's turn and my heart thumps a little bit faster.
There are a bunch of people, it couldn't possibly land on me, right. I mean the odds are like 1/12 right now, which is a pretty low chance if you're asking me.
Why am I so paranoid whether or not it lands on me?
People are cheering and I've realized it's already landed on a person.
Me.
I feel myself turning red and I look over to Alex who looks speechless. I notice that he's also blushing.
"Excellent. But how do I do this exactly?"
"Do..what?" I say.
"Kiss a person." Everyone gasps and some people just shake their heads.
"W-what?" Peggy says.
"I grew up in the Caribbean and I didn't have many friends or experiences." I frown a little bit.
"I can't take away your first kiss! You should share it with someone special!" I say, getting a little sad, but it's mostly true. Your first kiss should be special. Mines wasn't, but I wouldn't bribe that from Alexander. Eliza nudges me.
"Don't throw away your shot to kiss him! C'mon!"
"I can't do that to him. It has to be meaningful." I say loudly. Everyone turns their head to look at me.
"Alexander, you can skip this if you want, it's really-"
"No. It's fine." My eyebrow raises and I tilt my head.
"A-are you sure? I really don't want to-"
"It's fine. I want to." He says, blushing slightly. I nod my head as I lean across the circle. I lift up his face with my finger and I plant a kiss on his lips.
Woah.
My heart beats faster than it already is and I can feel my other arm start to shake. I try to relax, but I can't.
His tongue slips into my mouth and that's when I'm taken back. He rests his hand behind my neck and I forget that everyone else is in the room.
It's just me and Alex in this room. Nothing else matters.
It's not until Peggy's whooping that brings me back to reality.
"Wow! Get a room!" Hercules says. I pull away and Alexander is blushing like crazy.
"Woah." I say.
"Woah." He repeats.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I hear the shower turn off in the bathroom. I pretend to be asleep when I hear Alex come out of the bathroom. He hangs his towel up and he sits on his bed. He grabs his laptop from his desk and I hear him typing.
"Cold in my professions..." I hear him say. I want to stay up for the rest, but I fall asleep at one point.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*
I wake up and I look over to Alexander who's sleeping upright, the laptop still open. I smile. Day 1 with the new roommate was successful.
