John's P.O.V
I come back to the dorm after class to see what awaits me with Alexander. He's probably gonna want to bake something, because he's been complaining about wanting some cake. I close the door gently and I flop down at my desk chair, sighing. Alexander looks up from his desk and gives me a small smile.
"Hey handsome." He stands up and walks behind my chair, placing his hands on my shoulders and massaging them.
"I'm exhausted." I say.
"From?"
"I had tests in all my classes. It's like they planned it to tortue us." He laughs and keeps massaging me.
"You know what would make you feel better?"
"A bath I can't take?"
"That, but also..." He spins the chair so I'm facing him. "Dyeing our hairs!" He puts his hands together, a huge smile on his face.
"Dyeing our hairs? Why?" Alexander walks over to his desk and grabs his laptop. He sits on my lap and I hold on to his waist instinctively so he doesn't fall. He turns so he's sitting sideways on my lap.
"There's a salon nearby that has gotten great reviews for dyeing hair."
"You...that doesn't explain why you wanna dye them."
"I just do."
"No...you just never wanna do something. You always have a reason." He sighs.
"I've been talking with my father-"
"You've been talking with your father? Why haven't you told me?"
"Because it didn't seem like something to talk about." I scoff.
"That's always something to talk about."
"Okay, whatever, so I've been talking to him recently, still trying to get to know him and we had a conversation about taking risks and being wild and it just got me thinking about all the crazy things I've never done and well...I wanna dye my hair."
"That's not that crazy."
"Okay, it's like a mild crazy, but I'm not trying to start off with batshit crazy. I don't even wanna dye my whole hair, just a strip. Like, it would be hidden I'm pretty sure. You would have to push some hair away to find it, so I thought you would be willing to do it with me since it's not that big of a dye." I sigh.
"Sure."
"Wait really? I thought you were gonna say no with that. I prepared more stuff just in case you said no." I laugh.
"Still share it."
"No, it's not gonna be the same. But...since you asked." I watch him open up a document that's title 'Convince John To Dye Hair With Me Because I Wanna Do More Crazy Things And I Love Him❤️'
"Um...that's one lengthy title." He laughs.
"I'll just give you a summary. Um...c'mon your hair has been brown for too long, um...you would look cooler...it's like a symbol of our love if we both had it...um yeah." He smiles and closes his laptop.
"Okay, make an appointment." I tap the side of his thigh and he gets up. I get up after him, stretching. "We need to go to the spa or something. I'm sore all over, and only part of it is from working out." Alexander laughs.
"Well, I'm gonna book an appointment for tomorrow, so prepare yourself."
"Alright. I'm taking a nap now." I say, flopping down on the bed. Alexander sits down next to me and starts to massage my back. I groan happily in response.
"Oh my gosh. Thanks."
"We're still gonna go to the spa." He kisses my cheek. "Trust me."

Alexander's leg bounces up and down while we wait in the salon. I place my hand on his thigh so it stops, but it doesn't.
"I'm so excited. I've never been to a real salon before."
"Clearly. How'd you cut your hair back in the Caribbean?"
"My mother cut it most of the time. And then I let it grow out. Then, a neighbor would cut it, then I let it grow out again, so I just let it grow out."
"It has got ridiculously long. Maybe you should trim it." Alexander observes his hairs, which falls to his shoulders.
"Okay, just a trim."
"John and Alex?" Someone says to us. I raise a hand and we both stand up. "So you guys want to dye your hair?"
"Just a part of it. Like, a tiny strip that's unnoticeable to the public." Alexander says. The man nods his head and refers to one of his coworkers.
"Wanna do him?" He says, pointing to me. The dude nods and motions me to take a seat near the washing station. I sit down and I rest my head against the sink. He runs his hair through my hair before running the water.
"Wow, your hair is extremely soft."
"I condition it often."
"Clearly. It's nice. Your boyfriend might love it."
"He does. Always runs his hands through it." He laughs and starts to shampoo my hair.
"Alright, let's get started."

"Are you ready to see me?" Alexander says.
"Yes, I'm ready to see you. Are you ready to see me?" I say.
"Yes!" He comes from the other side of the mirror and gasps.
"I've never seen you with straight hair, oh my gosh."
"Yeah, I literally hate it. I'm washing it first thing tomorrow. Wow, they did a good job, I can't even see your blonde streak."
"That's the point." I roll my eyes and he smiles.
"I can't even find it! And it's my hair."
"Alright, let's go home."
