It's Valentine's Day 😉
John's P.O.V
I come back from class and Alexander is already here, looking at some notes and his laptop open.
"I have a test on Friday, so I'm gonna be studying. Sorry." He says without looking up. I silently acknowledge this as I pull out my phone to text Peggy on what she's doing.
AndPeggy: omg yes please come over. I need help.
I kiss the top of Alexander's head before leaving. I walk to the sisters house and I don't even get a chance to knock on the door before Peggy opens it and pulls me in.
"Woah, what's the emergency? Wow, red looks good on you." Peggy smiles and does a little twirl.
"Isn't it pretty? But, I've been trying a bunch of dresses on. This is the 5th one I've put on."
"Are you only putting on red dresses?" She nods and I laugh. "What's the occasion?"
"Are you stupid? It's Valentines Day, Laurens! Oh my gosh." I widen my eyes and slap my forehead.
"That's today? Shoot."
"You and Alexander aren't doing anything?"
"He's studying for some test." She makes a pout face and rubs my shoulder.
"It's okay. That means you can exercise all of your good ideas with me and help me with Maria."
"What do you have planned so far?"
"I booked us a dinner at a really expensive place. I booked a 5 course meal and that's at 7."
"Peggy, it's only 4."
"I know! I'm nervous."
"You've been dating Maria for a while now, why are you still nervous?"
"I just am. Leave me alone."
"It's not like you can't scare her away or make her not like you. She already likes you. She likes you so much that she's dating you." Peggy frowns and I raise an eyebrow. "What?"
"No, you're right. I just...like to overreact about these things."
"That's cute. Shows you care. But do you only need help on your dress choices?" She nods her head and I sigh. "I'm not a dress person, Peggy."
"You're gay!"
"That's a stereotype I do not associate myself with, thank you very much." She frowns and I smile. "I still have a good fashion sense."
"I know! I saw that picture of you in the suit. You were looking sharp." I laugh and she smiles. "But yeah. Eliza and Angelica are gonna do my hair and makeup, but I need your emotional support and guidance."
"Okay. Like I said, y'all are dating. I don't think a bad date is gonna make her break up with you. She cares more about your personality and how you treat her and all of that cute annoying relationship things."
"Cute annoying relationship things? You're in a relationship! And you and Alexander do way more cute and far more annoying things than Maria and I."
"Like what?"
"Um Angelica told me that you interrupted one of his classes just to give him a pen."
"Hey hey hey. In my defense, he was texting me nonstop about how he needed that specific pen for that specific class to take notes."
"Tell him to type them!" We laugh as she sits on the edge of her bed. "It's my first Valentine's Day not being single. Even in high school, I never had a partner in time for Valentine's Day."
"Partner?"
"I was still kind of closeted in high school."
"Weren't we all?" She gives me a small smile and pats the bed next to her. I take a seat and she rests her head on my shoulder. I wrap my arm around her shoulder and she sighs.
"I remember, I dated one of my best friends in high school, but kept it a secret cause I didn't want my friends, especially my sisters, to find out that I was gay."
"But you were only in high school for two years. You were gonna be gone once Angelica graduated."
"Shut up. Anyways, I pretty sure that relationship didn't work because she wanted to tell everyone. And I didn't. She thought I was embarrassed to date her, which I wasn't. I was just...scared at what people were gonna think of me."
"Same. Which is why after that guy ratted me out to everyone, I really wondered why I had to be gay and why people were gonna judge me. I was more scared in disappointing my family, but luckily they didn't care. But it's hard to be outted when you're not ready. It's such an invasion of privacy."
"I can't even imagine. I feel like being gay or les or pans or bi or trans or whatever is way harder." I nod in agreement and she chuckles.
"How did my nervousness become about this?" I laugh with her. She sits up straight and gives me a tap kiss. "Thanks for having this chat with me."
"No problem." As if on cue, Eliza and Angelica burst in talking. They come to the bedroom and they gasp when they see Maria.
"Oh my gosh! That color is so sexy on you." Eliza says. Angelica just nods in response.
"We need to do your hair and makeup, like, right now." Angelica says, running to Maria's mirror and grabbing some makeup items.
"John, you can stay if you want, but it's gonna be really boring for you." I stand up and I hug each of the sisters before leaving.
"Love you all." I say.
"Love you too!" They say as I close the door. I walk back slowly to my dorm, and then I realize that Alexander still might be studying. I sigh as I slowly open the door, but I'm shocked when I don't see Alexander by his desk and that the lights are turned off. Instead, there's a table set up in the middle of the dorm with two plate sets, a vase of flowers in the middle and just a bunch of candles scattered around the room, which makes sense on why the lights are off. Alexander enters as well and he widens his eyes when he sees me. He has a box of pizza in his hand and a bottle of wine.
"Shit. You weren't supposed to come back so soon. I thought you were gonna stay out a little longer." He puts the pizza box and the bottle of wine down on the table. "Happy Valentines Day." I smile and I walk up to him. I kiss his forehead.
"Happy Valentines Day. So you were pretending to study in order to do this?" He nods his head.
"I tried to actually cook, but it didn't work out. I was trying to make a lasagna, and I burned it. So I just thought pizza is the next best thing." I grab his waist and I plant a kiss on his lips.
"You tried to cook for me? Aw, baby." He rolls his eyes but gives me another kiss.
"Shut up."
"Thank you though. I appreciate it. That's really sweet of you. I thought you forgot. I mean...I kind of did."
"I know. You're bad with dates." I smile and he kisses my forehead.
"Let's eat."
