Let's say it's like Octoberish, but before Halloween

John's P.O.V

A thunder crackle wakes me up in the middle of the night. I jump awake, and then I realize that I'm inside and I'm fine. However, I look over to my roommate Alexander who seems to be having a really hard time.

"Alex baby, you okay?"

"T-the noise. It reminds me of...when a hurricane wiped my town. It scarred me." I raise my eyebrow.

"I'm sorry for that." Alex shakes his head and looks over at me.

"Could you...could we move the beds together or something? Could you just...hold me for a while?"

"Of course Alexander. Anything to make you feel safe."

We stand up and we move the beds together. We lie down and immediately Alex snuggles up close to me. I wrap my arms around him and I stroke his hair slowly.

"Shhh. It's okay. I'm here. I'm here."

"It was so bad. There were so many families lost, so many buildings broken down. It was..it was-"

"Don't talk about it, darling. It's not gonna help you." I feel his nodding on my chest. I kiss his forehead, still stroking his hair.

"Thank you. I haven't had someone care about me for a long time. I haven't had a group of friends, ever. So just, thank you. I really appreciate it."

"Of course. I'm glad I met you, Alexander. You changed my life."

"How so?"

"Just...overall. I seem to be happier, the world seems lighter. Colors seem brighter, problems seem to annoy me less. I don't know."

"I think you're explaining something more than friendship, Laurens."

"Oh yeah. Like what?"

"I don't know. Maybe just more than a friendship level. Like....crush level." He says. Even though it's dark and he can't really see my face, I'm blushing like crazy.

"Pffft. You're crazy Hamilton."

"Am I?"

"No. In any other case, yes." He laughs and I feel him making little circles on my chest.

"I would know how it feels. I have a crush on something too."

"Oh yeah?"

"You remember when you took me to the movies and you asked me who my crush was and I refused to answer."

"Yeah?"

"I refused cause it's you." I look down at him and through the moonlight, I can see his smiling face.

"Really?"

"Yeah, who would've thought." He says and I laugh.

"Why didn't you say anything?"

"I don't know. I've never had a boyfriend before. I don't know how this works."

"It works however you feel like it should work. There aren't rules to dating." I say. Alex finds my other hand and intertwines our fingers. My heart beats a little faster.

"When we kissed at the party, I was going hysterical. I told Peggy about it and she's been telling me to tell you ever since but I've had trouble doing it and I didn't really know how and...yeah. I thought it would be easier to just...have a lot of flirtatious encounters and hope you catch on."

Gosh, he had no idea I was dying on the inside for him.

"Well, that's how I felt. Every time we kissed, I thought you would just admit some feelings or ask me it and it never really happened. I'm usually the one to be straight forward, but I found myself at a loss of words with you."

"I try my best to make others quiet so I can do more talking." I laugh.

"So."

"So."

"Hamilton, I like you." I finally manage to say.

"Laurens, I like you a lot." He says. A big smile crawls upon my face as I fall asleep.

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

I wake up before Alex, which is good for him. He needs as much sleep as he can get. I look at his peaceful face and I wanna kiss him right then and there, but I decide against it.

I reach over for my phone on the desk and I check some notifications. I see that the headmaster canceled all classes because of last night's events.

"Thank fucking goodness." I say silently. I keep going through some emails while stroking Alex's hair. He stirs and then he officially wakes up.

"What time is it?" He says.

"9:30."

"9:30! I got to get to class!" He sits up and looks around the room.

"Alex baby, relax. All classes are canceled. You can relax today." He stops looking as he runs his fingers through his hair.

"Oh. That means I can do homework." I sit up and I grab his shoulders before he can't stand up.

"Alex. No. You are relaxing today. You aren't gonna even open your laptop unless it's to watch some movies or YouTube. You aren't gonna go near your book bag, you aren't gonna email your professors, you aren't gonna go to the library, you are relaxing." I say.

He looks at me with his beautiful chocolate eyes and I just want to kiss him. So I do.

I grab his face and kiss his lips. He responds instantly and I'm glad he does. I slowly push him down on the bed so he's underneath me. I lie in between his legs and I feel him grab my shirt, bringing me closer to him. I pull away from his lips at some point and I go for his neck, sucking on certain parts. He grumbles and I know I'm doing it right.

"Oh my god Laurens." He says. I pull away and I go back to his lips. We keep making out for a while until we both pull away.

"Okay. Okay. You convinced me to relax." I smile as I grab my laptop and open it up to YouTube.

"That's another reason why I like you. You know when I should relax and you don't want me to drive to insanity."

"I care about you, that's why."

"Same here."
