John's P.O.V

It's been a week since Alexander's moved into the dorm and I've been getting to know him better, however, it's when I pry away his laptop from his beautiful brown eyes.

"John, you know I need to work." He always says. I shake my head, always objecting.

"Okay then. What do you want to do? But it has to be interesting because I know I'm not prying away from my work for no reason." He asks me.

"Ever been to a movie theater?" I ask him. He shakes his head and I gasp.

"Alexander, what did your childhood consist of?" Alex lowers his head a little bit and just shrugs again.

"Sadness mostly." He says. I raise my eyebrow and he waves his arm.

"Don't worry about it." I nod my head, even though I'm gonna worry about it, but I won't do it when he isn't comfortable.

"What's a movie theater?" He asks me. I laugh as I sit on his bed, next to him.

"It's this big building with individual rooms that play a movie. There's a food counter so we could get things like popcorn, twizzlers, but it's always overpriced, so the gang and I just get some things from a nearby convenience store and sneak it in."

"Is that illegal?"

"It's not if they don't catch us." Alex smiles. He nods his head.

"Sure. Let's go to the movies."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

We stop at the convenience store first to pick out some snacks. I grab a bag of gummy worms, a huge bag Doritos and an Arizona. I look over to Alexander who's observing the aisles very carefully.

"Everything looks good?" He nods his head.

"Snicker bites? Why not the normal Snickers?" I laugh as I grab it for him.

"Oh no, you don't have to-"

"Please. I would love to." Alexander holds his hands together in front of him and looks to the floor for a while.

"Thanks."

"Okay, get a drink. The movie is gonna start soon."

*~*~*~*~*~*~*

"The movie starts in 20 minutes. Why are we here so early?"

"Because, we got the best seats and we get to have a chat before it's gonna have to be completely silent."

"Okay. Let's have a chat."

I look at his brown eyes. I observe his hair that is out of its ponytail today. I see his beautiful lips that I've been thinking about ever since that incident with spin the bottle. I could kiss him again if I wanted to.

But I won't. Not yet.

"Hmmm, favorite color." I say.

"Blue. Yours?"

"Green. Animal."

"Dog."

"Turtle. Ma-"

"Turtle? That's so uncommon." He says. I smile.

"Everyone says that. I love turtles. They make the world go round."

"As you were saying."

"Major?"

"Law. You?"

"Marine Biologist."

"Ooh, six syllables. Much more interesting than my one." I smile.

"Something you dislike."

"Hmmm...underachieving people. You?"

"Pulp. In like, orange juice. It just bothers me." He laughs, shaking his head.

"You're weird." I smile.

"Okay. Deeper questions. First crush."

"Next question."

"What! No. You can't get away that easy."

"I was homeschooled and self taught most of my life. I didn't really have much interactions with humans." I nod my head. Alexander has so much backstory behind him that he's not willing to share all together, but the bits and pieces are coming along.

"Then how do you know you're bi?"

"I just do. I've always found myself being attracted to both roles in movies from the little I've seen and...yeah."

"Well, you've been on campus for a week. Anyone catch your eye?"

"I don't know whether to lie or stay quiet."

"It's fine. We can skip that answer. For now."

"Who was your first crush?"

I think back to high school and elementary school.

"Amelia. First grade. But she ditched me for this guy named Ron."

"Aww. Poor little Laurens got his heart broken." I laugh loudly.

"Yup. Hasn't been mended since."

"Is that the reason you're gay now? Cause of this Amelia?" I nod my head as Alexander takes a sip from his drink.

"Yup. That's when I realized girls ain't shit and I like dick." Alexander chokes on the juice, laughing after his coughing fit.

"Oh my goodness." I pat his back.

"Can you handle another question?" I ask. Alexander nods his head, still coughing a little bit.

"Favorite childhood memory?" I ask. Alexander stops coughing and looks at his hands like his hands has the answers. I think I hit a nerve with the question.

"You know what, you don't have to answer it. But you're gonna have to tell me...Rihanna or Beyoncé?"

"Oh, that's harder than the past question. Umm, Beanna?" He says. I laugh, realizing he mashed their names together. "They're too good to pick just one!"

"Okay okay, I apologize."

"What would our names conjoined together be? Alexon? Jalex?"

I start to think. I try putting our first names together but it just doesn't work. Then, I come up with something.

"Lams!" I exclaim. He raises his eyebrow and nods his head.

"Lams. Yeah. I like that. I can get used to that."

The movie starts to play and I lean down a little in my seat. I watch as Alex pops another Snickers Bite into his mouth. He relaxes a little and taps my shoulder.

"Could I rest my head here?" I nod and he smiles as he rests his head.

I try to hear the movie, but my heart thumping gets in the way.
