Seventeen

Laurence's Pov

I was just about to go home when I saw garroth coming from the back of the school looking pretty sad. It was about two hours after school had ended. It was a baseball practice day so I guess that's why he was still here. I was here because I had some volunteer work to do.

"Hey garroth!" I called out.
His head quickly jolted up, he gave me a slight wave as he noticed me. I ran over to the blonde boy.
"What are you still doing here?" he asked.
"Volunteer work, you?"
"Baseball practice..." He said kind of sadly.
"Hey is something wrong buddy?"
"A little."
"Well you can tell me."
"It's just.. it's just you know how this school has the big baseball tournament out of town in three weeks?"
"Yeah?"
"Well we were just given a note that needs not only a signature from a guardian it needs 100 dollars for travel fees.... Normally if it's like 10 dollars the school can cover you but not 100. I'm the captain Laurence. I'm letting everyone down... There's no way I can get that money."
"Did you try and talk to coach."
"That's why I'm still here even though the teams already gone. I tried to speak with him but all he said was 'Ro'meave I know this is about the money and I'm sorry we can't help you. This school has already dug you out of a lot of messes with money because you're a good sport and player. If you owed the school every penny they've put out just to send you to tournaments you'd be hundreds of dollars in Dept. So figure it out on your own or a different captain is going to the game.' I was really looking forward to this Laurence. I guess it's my fault though. I guess I've just been riding on a wave of the school's funds haven't I?"
"Wait, why has the school been paying for all of your tournaments?"
"Oh that's right.. I didn't exactly explain that my foster care person hates us did I? She signs things so it doesn't get suspicious but would never pay for school activities. I think she payed for one of vyalds once and that was purely because she could come too and she basically tried to tell people about 'how much he wants to get adopted' to try and get rid of him."
"That's harsh."
"Yeah I know. It sucks a lot."
"I wish I could help you out..."
"No don't trouble yourself I'm just going to head back to my place and you know do what I do every day."
"Oh well I was about to ask if you wanted to hang out. My offer still stands though."
"Aphmau's probably waiting for me Laurence. She's home alone right now."
"What if..... I come to your place instead."
"That's a really bad idea."
"Your rooms right by the fire escape right? We can keep the window open and if we hear the with as you say come home then I'll just leave."
"She might be there when we get there."
"You go in check and if she isn't you can let me in."
"You really are persistent."
"Very."
"Well you can come but don't blame me if something happens."
"I won't."

I walked along side garroth as we arrived to his fire escape. We climbed it and he went inside. I heard some muffled talking before he let me in.
"Fancy~" I said.
"Wouldn't really call it that."
"So this is mystery boy which you 'disappeared' with at the party apparently."
"Yes. Yes it is. Aphmau this is Laurence, Laurence this is aphmau."
"Wait I just remembered didn't you say they'd kill you if they knew that I knew you guys are all foster care siblings."
"He knows what now."
"Laurence you idiot."
"Ok, so first you lie to me and say that he thinks I'm your cousin and now I learn that he knows from the sound of it everything?"
"Hey Zane had a random guy in our closet why am I the victim!"
"That guys doesn't know anything."
"Then why was he in our house aphmau."
"Does it look like I know! All I know is I'm about to beat you to a pulp."
"Way to go Laurence!" He side running out of the door as aphmau chased him.
"Guys please you're going to get each other seriously hurt!" I yelled. "Is it really that big of a deal if I know! I'm not going to tell anyone."
"To late already chasing him!"
"Aphmau please!" I said grabbing her arm as she tried to run past me. "Violence is just irrational for this."
"O-oh.... I'm sorry. I over exaggerate sometimes..."
"You really do," garroth panted.
"I'll just go watch TV. The witch is at work so she's not coming home until around 8:00."
"Wait she has a job."
"Yeah I heard her talking about it on the phone last night when I went to get something to drink."
"Oh ok."
"I'll talk to you later big bro," she skipped away to the living room.
Garroth smiled and we went back in his room. We sat on the top bunk.
"So this is what your life looks like."
"Pretty much."
"Also may I ask about the guy Zane had in your closet?"
"According to Zane's entry which I'm 50% sure he meant to rip out this, guy he knows called him while he was trying to put something he stole from the witch away. The witch came home and then he stuffed him in the closet. He didn't go into detail and ripped it out once he realized we read it."
"Oh I see.." I fell backwards on his bed. "It's so warm in here....."
"I guess its do to the summer weather rolling in."
"Maybe...... So what do you wanna do?"
"There's not much we can do here..."
"Ooo I know we can watch weird videos on my phone!"
"Oh.. ok"

I sat up and turned so I sat beside him. I grabbed my phone and the earbuds I keep in my pocket. I plugged them in and gave garroth one of the sides.
"Oh here this one's pretty funny."

We sat there laughing quietly along to videos on my phone.
Garroth yawned which made me yawn.
"I'm so tired "
"Oh I can leave so you can get some sleep if you want-"
"No! I Mean I'm no I'll be fine let's just continue watching videos."
"If you say so."

~Le 45 minutes of watching videos later~

"My phones on 25% so we'll have to stop."
I didn't get a reply.
"Garroth? Gaaaaaaaarrrrrrrroooootttghhhhh are you hiiiiiiggggggghhhhhhhh? And you're asleep. Should have guess when you stopped laughing. I guess it would have been a good idea for me to leave earlier. Now I have to sit here... With you on my shoulder... Because I can't bring myself to move you. Darn.

Garroths pov (oh yes there's more)

I heard a light hum in my right ear. As I started to wake up I could here it was music. I stretched my legs out as I yawned.
"What time is it..." I mumbled, "and why is there music?"
I rolled over to my other side to try and go back to sleep because I'm lazy but mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm- i forgot Laurence. He's here. Still. In my bed. With me. Because I was to stupid to let him leave. I Don't know how long its been. Oh my Irene. He's asleep to. Maybe if I just go back to sleep I'll wake up and he'll be gone. No that probably won't happen.
I felt around for his phone so I could check the time. I sat up.
8:45!!!
I turned off his music his phone was at 6% battery.
It was later then I anticipate​d him being here. No one else was in the room. I heard him move around a little in his sleep hopefully. He hauled the blankets a little more over him. I didn't really want to wake him.
My stomach growled. I hadn't eaten something proper like all weekend. Just gronala bars and hot chocolate.
"What time is it..." I heard him mumble.
"8:47 on the dot."
"Huh?" He looked up to face me.
"You fell asleep at my place."
"Because you fell asleep on top of me."
"I-I what?"
"N-no not on top of me but like your head was on my shoulder and I didn't really want to Move you so I guess I just kind of fell asleep."
"Oh, that makes more sense."
"What did you think something else," he smirked.
"W-What no... Not at all."
"I'm fine if you did."
"Well I didn't."
"If you say so~"

I heard the door open. I quickly shoved Laurence under the covers.
"Garroth suppers ready, I actually made something decent because I could. Plus I thought vylad might actually be home and it's his birthday."
"Wait wait wait, are you actually caring right now?"
"Don't get used to it."
"I certainly won't but I'll bask in it as long as I can."
"Tsk."
Ivy left and I let Laurence out of the covers.

"T-that was uncomfortable."
"You just slept with me for over ma hour how was that uncomfortable?"
"Because you shoved me um uh you know what forget I said anything."
"Ok.... Well I'm going to go enjoy my food. It was nice hanging out with you."
"Yeah that was a good time."

I gave him a hug and he almost seemed to melt as he hugged back.
"We should do this more often...." He said.
"Hang out?"
"Oh uh yeah..."
"Well I'll see you around. It's rare for ivy to be in a good mood so I'm going to go enjoy it. See you at school tomorrow."
"See you at school."
He left and as he did I saw him haul out his phone.

I walked out to the table which was mainly for show here but it actually had food on it.
"I'm not the best cook but enjoy I guess."
"What's got you in a good mood," aphmau asked in a generally interested way.
"Just something happened recently is all."
"Do you have a boyfriend!"
"No and ugh just eat your food." Ivy took her plate and left me and aphmau.
"You know what aphmau."
"What?"
"I might not actually be having a horrible day after all."
"Is it because she didn't call us brats?"
"That too I guess."
