There's a fragile heart belonging to a damaged soul.
She's trying to hold on but it's getting harder not to let it go.
She begged him to come back to reality so that he could love her again.
Crying, tears that will stain her cheeks forever from the pain..
She tried everything to save them but she knew she had to leave.
Before she closed the door for good,
She had to try just one last thing.
Scared and broken inside.
As she sucked that smoke in to her lungs.
She looked him in the eyes.
The pain is finally gone but the worst was yet to come.
As she comes down from the high for the very first time,
She felt nothing inside.
She was numb.
Vulnerability opened her up that night,
as she told him that this was the first time since September
that she wasn't crying in bed all alone.
He looked at her emotionless,
With no words to respond.
Feeling small and hopeless she refused to move on.
It was that September moment when she realized,
This monster had taken the love of her life.
Terrified to face the truth.
They're coming to an end.
"Look at what this did to you!"
How could this be all that's left of them?
Consecutive lies and secrets have made her paranoid of every move.
In an attempt to bring him close again,
She'd do whatever he asked her to do.
She took on his new life and it slipped right through her fingers.
She crashed and burned behind the light,
but at least now he was with her.
She's trying to hold on.
It's too hard now not to let it go although she doesn't want to remember.
She gave him everything that she had left of her.
But he's lost to the taste of the new love that he found in September.
