Jaden

"Have a nice day." the cashier at the old gas station wished me as he handed me my receipt. I thanked him with a silent nod then rushed back out to my car where that asshole, Jackson was waiting inside.

I shouldn't really be this mad at the man after we've pretty much cleared up what really happened, especially since I could almost relate to his situation but it still bothered me and I still kind of wanted to punch him... He's only in my car to help me find Nicki and, as soon as that happens, he's out of here.

Now that he's made Nicki run away the way she did earlier, I only wanted to beat his ass even more. I saw him talking to her and that's when she started to act differently. I'm positive he had something to do with that.

As I approached my car, I could see Jackson through the window, talking to someone on the phone. After a short moment, he quickly opened the door and gestured me over.

"Hey, come listen to this!" he called to me.

I gestured him over with a head nod to come follow me around to the gas pump and he did.

As I placed the pump in my tank, I asked, "What is it?"

He grinned, "They found Nicole." those words almost made me freeze but I ended up widening my eyes at him in disbelief. "Tell Jaden what you told me, Janet," he said through his phone as he set it to speaker mode.

Janet spoke, "Wait... You two are together right now?"

I nodded, "Yeah, we were looking for Nicole but we know now that you've found her, right?"

"Yes, we did... Hmm, where are you two located?"

Jackson looked at me for a second then answered, "The car ran out of gas and we had to stop at a station..."

"Oh okay, well I'm glad you two are getting along, that will make all of this much simpler," she said happily. I don't know who told her that Jackson and I were getting along, I only admitted that I wasn't mad at him anymore. She continued, "Anyways, Nicole was found safe at home after wandering around town and now she's-"

"We can come see her?" I asked. I didn't mean to interrupt but I just had to know.

"Well... No. She's out with Simon to help him run errands. I was told to inform you two to head back to headquarters. If you want, you could come to see her later."

Jackson nodded, "That's fine. All that matters is that she's okay."

"Okay! If you need anything, I'll be next door to Simon's office. Bye-bye now."

"Bye Janet." we both said before Jackson ended the call.

He looked at me for a moment then a smile grew across his face, "What a relief, am I right?"

I grinned back and slapped the palm of his hand excitedly, "Hell yeah. A huge one."

I don't know what I'll do if Nicki and my baby got hurt out there. I know Nicki can handle danger but the unborn could have been in trouble if something crazy happened.

I'm overthinking.

I'm just glad that I could be at ease now that she's safe.

I placed the pump back in its place and climbed back into my ride, "Well. Let's get back to headquarters then. This next paycheck is important to me."

Coach nodded and hopped into the passenger side. "Same here. Plus, I have a yoga therapy class I have to instruct today."

I started my car and began to head back to headquarters. "There's a yoga therapy class here?"
