Her eyes snapped open at the sound of a Fire Navy ship sailing across the icy southern lands. She recognized the pitch-black fumes escaping from the chimney. Black and red. The colors of the Fire Nation.

She noticed that it was moving towards the Water Tribe. If there were some things she loathed in that world, the Fire Nation was certainly one of them. She started running as quickly as she could towards the tribe like she was trying to get there before the ship would. She had achieved that a thousand times before. Her skills were more than that.

The skills of an Assassin. She ran fast, she killed with no hesitation, she knew the human body in all its weak points. She was forced to be trained in the skills of an Assassin. But she wasn't a killer her entire like.

Before the war, she was taught airbending by one of the Great Monks of the Western Air Temple. But then the war started. The Fire Nation burned and destroyed everything. They killed all the air benders. She thought that she was the last one. How she survived all these years, was still a mystery.

So many things she'd gotten through in this war. She never got the time to look for an answer to that question.

When she reached the Tribe, about ten seconds earlier, than the Fire Navy ship did, she didn't immediately rush in the village. She stood behind a snowed hill and she wrapped the bow from her back. She took one of the many arrows she had. She passed the arrow at the bow's rope and she kept it close to her face spotting the targets.

The ship broke a part of the ice and when the backdoor opened six men walked out. They wore the familiar red uniform Fire Nation soldiers used to wear and helmets covering their faces. A man walked out with a scar. More like a teenager, he was.

She had been protecting that Tribe for almost a year, but she had gotten sick and tired of the cold. Each moment of the day and night, being cold, tired and hungry. She wanted to move on. The only reason she was still there was because of Chief Hakoda asking her to protect the Tribe when they would leave with other men to join the war a year ago.

She knew the people in the Tribe and Sokka had agreed to protect the villagers from the inside. But she looked at him this moment and she could only consider his efforts ridiculous. She rolled her eyes. Of course, they were ridiculous. The boy never received any training in martial arts.

Just before the scarred man was about to hit him she let the arrow fly off her arms. She never missed a shot even if the arrow hit the soldier behind the scarred man and it seemed like she had missed it. They all turned to look at the direction the arrow came from and their gazes fell on her. Some of them tried to recognize her and some others already knew who she was. She slipped off the hill and she landed in front of the the Fire Nation soldiers and the scarred man.

"You missed the shot!" Sokka exclaimed.

"Sokka, you're not really the one to talk right now," She growled at him with a furious death glare. The Fire Nation soldiers attacked her.

She bowed at the first punch and jumped at the next fire blast avoiding them both. She used her arrows and the bow too fast, giving no time for the soldiers to make their move. They didn't seem to be the well-trained kind of Fire Nation soldiers that she'd fought before. They were easy to strike down.
