~~Kristofferson~~

Waking up to the surroundings that I didn't want to see.

"You're awake..." Coughed Mrs. Bradbury.

"Mrs. Bradbury?" I sat up and wiped my red puffy eyes.

"Your parents think you ran away... I did the best I could but them Agents-" She coughed again.

"Agents? They came to you?" I was shocked.

"Yes. Turned my whole house upside down looking for you two." She gently laughed then began to cough.

"Are you okay?" I was worried.

"I'm fine Hunnie, but we need to get you back to Nate." She told me.

"Why do you want me and Nate together so badly?" I asked.

"Because I promised your Aunt when you were little that I would do anything to get you and the one you loved to be toghter." She smiled.

"My Aunt Doe?" I asked shocked.

"Yeah. Before she died, she wanted the best for you and I promised her I would do whatever I can." She reminisced about that time.

"I knew you knew my aunt but..." She cut me off.

"Myself and your Aunt were best friends. I have known her since we were your age." She smiled.

"Is that why I have known you since I can remember?" I realised.

"Sure is." She said. " Now Nate." We came up with a plan to get me out.

She would park her grandson's Range Rover outside the back. Her son about 28, He use to babysit me when I was little. His name is Kristofferson. I just call him Kris. I haven't seen him in about a year or so due to his work. Anyway, that would have me able to jump out of the back window and gently land on the roof of his car. She would give me they keys and then I could drive back to the Café and get Nate.

Before she left my room, she turned to me, wheezing she said "Promise you two will come back and see me in a few days." She coughed again.

"Of corse. Thank-you Mrs. Bradbury." I thanked her.

"Hunnie, I told you, call me Avery. It's my pleasure. Love you sweetie." She was nearly in tears.

"Love you too." I went over and hugged her as she left my house.

I was lying on my bed. Mrs. Bradbury had told me to wait for her signal then climb out of the window. I heard the doorbell ring and then Mrs. Bradbury's voice. I was wondering if that was the signal or not... but then I heard something hit my window.

Walking over to the window I saw the car parked and a guy leaning on it. I opened the window, carefully, quietly and cautiously until I saw his face.

"Kris?" I smiled.

"Hurry up!" he said as I jumped down. He took my hands to help me off the car then hugged me.

"What are you doing here?" I asked as we jumped in the car.

"I came to be your hero for the day!" He joked. "But seriously, I heard you needed some help and I was back and wanted to see my little slinky." He smiled as he drove away from my house.

"I'm glad your back!" I said, only just remembering, to buckle up.

"You have grown. And got into a it of trouble I hear." He smiled at my mistakes.

"So she told you then." I realised.

"And I'm glad she did." He kept driving.

"You know where we are going?" I was surprised.

"Yeah. I know the Café and the owners. Ira and Wayne, Lovely people. Helped me along the way too." He said.

"I don't know why, but I feel like I have seen the place before." I said looking out of the car window.

"You have." He started. "I have taken you there before. I am surprised you remember though. You were only young." He told me.

"Wow. Coincidence huh." I laughed.

"Sure is. My nan- Sorry Avery- Mrs. Bradbury, whatever... She said that it wasn't a coincidence. She says it was luck. But she said it like luck was a thing. She referred to it as the luck." He shook his head smiling.

"Did she mean this?" I held up the luck charm she gave me, that was on my necklace.

"I don't know why?" He looked at it then his eyes were back on the road.

"Because I came to a crossroads and threw this up in anger from not knowing where to go. I went in the direction that this landed.

"So you think its luck?" He asked.

"I'm not sure... but its pretty creepy that it landed in the direction right?" I said. "And if it didn't, I probably wouldn't be talking to you now." I smiled.

"True very true. Well whatever It is, I'm glad it happened. I missed you, you... You... little ball of fluff!" He scuffled up my hair, keeping his sight on the road ahead.

"I'm 18! You can't treat me like a kid anymore Kristofferson!" I laughed.

"Slinky, come on. I am 28. I am literally a decade older than you! I can treat you like my little sister as much as I want!" He laughed. We were just that close. Literally, he was like m older brother anyway.

"Slinky... Why have you always called me that?" I asked him.

"I remember when you were with all your friends when you were small, all the girls fighting over the Jessy doll from Toy Story and the boys between Woodie and Buzz, but not you... You loved the dog Slinky." He answered.

"Wow... You remember that well. So how's your work? How's Parker?" Parker was one of Kris' best friends, they worked together. Both big builds, both brown spiky hair, both pearling green eyes. Practically looked alike.

"He's okay. Oh and he asked me to send his love." He use to come over now and again to help Kris babysit me.

"Well, when you see him tell him I send my love back." I smiled.

"I will do." We kept on driving.

👣...👣...👣

We pulled up outside of the Café and we both walked inside. I was hugged by Ira and Wayne.

"Imoge- wait... Kris?" Wayne said.

"Long time no seen Wayne." They hugged each other tight.

"What are you doing her with Imogen?" Ira asked him.

"She's like my little sister and I heard she was in need of help." He smiled and pulled me to his side.

"Is Nate here?" I asked, hopeful.

"No... After he left... He said he was going to get you... But some Agents grabbed him before we could." Ira told me.

"What?" I gasped.

"I tried to stop them, but I couldn't. they took him back to their HQ." Wayne said, tears in both of their eyes.

"I need to go help him." I went to walk out but Kris caught me.

"Gen." He said pulling me back.

"Let... Go... Kris... I need Nate." I was nearly crying.

"I know you do, and we will get him... But you need to calm down and think first... Okay!" His hands were on my shoulders.

"Okay." I hugged his waist. Him being taller than me and all.
